Safeway Chimney Sweeps & Duct Cleaning has been a family owned and operated business serving the greater Chicago land area since 1984. We are fully insured and C.S.I.A. certified. Safeway Chimney Sweeps & Duct Cleaning is a full service company providing both cleaning and repairs. A 22 point safety inspection is provided with each chimney cleaning to ensure a thorough clean and adherence to the strict standards we set for our work. Also, our certified technicians are equipped to service all of your heating and air conditioning needs whether it be repair or replacement. Owner Dan Florian and his crew have been certified to perform each of the services they offer by the various industry departments. We have 12 employees. We are fully insured and certified. Timely chimney/fireplace cleaning and inspection was performed. Needed repairs explained and visually displayed via camera. Estimate given and accepted. Work was performed for the most part exactly as described. Very professional and courteous crew. Cost was $4575. My only minor gripe would be that more tuck-pointing could have been performed in the fire box itself. Otherwise, a very good job performed, and I would hire them again.

When we moved into our new home in 2016, the fireplace had a gas smell so we turned off the gas and never used it. After begging my husband for 3 years to find someone to fix it, I took matters into my own hands. I’m not even exaggerating when I say the very next day the Safeway Chimney Sweep van drove right past me at Home Depot. It was a sign. While I normally am socially awkward with strangers, I walked up to the employee and asked him several questions: whether they service gas fireplaces, whether they travel as far as Bourbonnais, whether they are accepting new clients, etc. He was sooo nice and answered all my questions. I called the very next day and scheduled my fireplace check/repair. Fast forward to my appointment today. Can you guess who I see outside my door? The same guy I bombarded at Home Depot. I found out his name is Jeremy. And crazy enough, he wasn’t even supposed to be my technician today. He had offered to take the last call for his co-worker who had a crazy day. Another sign. He was so professional, kind, and knowledgeable. He wore a mask and booties and put down plastic to keep his work area clean. He fixed the issue and educated me about my gas fireplace along the way. And again, he was sooo nice. I seriously cannot say enough about Jeremy and Safeway Chimney Sweeps.

I hired the company to clean the dryer vent, fireplace chimney, and air ducts. Getting an estimate and scheduling the work went fine. The day before the scheduled work, the company called to tell me they couldn’t clean the air ducts because they were having problems with the trailer hauling the equipment. They would still come to clean the dryer vent and fireplace chimney. The workers were quick professional and explained everything in detail. They even took the time to explain how to use a gas fireplace since this is my first fireplace. The work was performed July 12, 2019. I went up on the roof on August 14, 2019 to check for leaks and found the caulking around the fireplace chimney and roof had worn out and was peeling away. Part of the chimney cleaning is to inspect it, I expected to be informed about issues. I was told everything looked good. The company was supposed to contact me to reschedule the air duct cleaning once the trailer was fixed. After two weeks I hadn’t heard from them. I placed a call and left a message. After another week of no response I hired another company to do the work. I wouldn’t hire again.

Kyle and the crew were on time courteous and clean. Turned out I needed more than just the cleaning to get the certification needed to close on the house. Not only was the quote reasonable for the repair, but they actually moved jobs around the holiday weekend to accommodate me. That’s service!!
