We are a third generation electrical contractors, we pride ourself in customer relations. We try our best to make every customer feel like a friend or family member. We install residential and commercial electric. Including Generators, Low voltage, Panel, and Meter installation.

"Ideal Electric came out and gave us an estimate to balance the use of circuits in our office. We were unable to get our landlord to perform the work and decided it was worth it for us to hire and pay for our own electrician. We can now plug in a heater in one office and use a microwave in the kitchen at the same time. Thank you Scott."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Local building codes typically require conduit around exterior wiring. Conduit protects the wire from moisture, extreme temperatures, sun exposure, and harsh weather conditions to prolong its lifespan. When a wire is worn out, it can be dangerous as the risk of electric shock or fire increases.

If you take home a pre-lit Christmas tree but want to spruce it up with blinking lights, don’t worry, there’s a simple solution. You can easily replace the light bulbs on the pre-lit tree with flashing bulbs. For a more subtle look, only replace some of the bulbs with flashing bulbs.

The requirements for outdoor lighting will vary depending on the type of light, where it’s located on the exterior of your home, and your local electrical code. Lights that come into contact with water (i.e. pool lights) will need to be on a GFCI, for instance. That being said, it’s safest to have any outdoor light on GFCI because of the risk of moisture. A pro can give you more specific information for your unique circumstances.

Yes, most services include testing the system after repairs. Confirm with your provider.

Pool lights are designed to be safe by protecting swimmers from electrocution. These lights are made with waterproof fixtures and seals to prevent contact with the water.

Electrocution from pool lights is still possible, but rare. Faulty wiring or broken lighting equipment can make lights unsafe, so it’s important to replace lights as needed and have an electrician inspect and upgrade the wiring.
