The Cleaning Guy was formed in 2007 in Springfield, IL with a simple philosophy: "give the lady what she wants...". Since that time we have expanded our reach with offices in Jacksonville and Bloomington, IL. We still consider ourselves to be a small locally owned and managed cleaning company. Many times you will encounter the owners and managers performing work on cleaning projects. We enjoy that level of service and customer contact. Because every house, every client and every situation is different we felt it would be not only arrogant but also irresponsible to attempt to create a program and force clients into it. Instead we develop a custom cleaning regiment around what you want and what you need.\n\nOur schedules are flexible to accommodate your hectic lifestyle, not our openings. We use products in you home which are familiar to you and if you would like environmental friendly products use we can accommodate that also. Bottom line... you tell us how to make you happy. \n

"My corporate client requested that we find a Cleaning Service in Springfield IL that could accomodate an Executive's home cleaning after their relocation. Working out of Chicago I first thought to go ahead and contact a name brand cleaning service and just go ahead and hire them. Well Springfield is not Chicago, and the name brand cleaning companies either would not call back or were unavailable when I needed them. I came across ServiceMagic's website and spoke with someone regarding McCloughan-Herrera Cleaning Services and within about and hour I received a call from Lana who explained all that her company could provide and they could be available as I requested. All I could say is that I would contact ServiceMagic in the future, and if I am in Springfield in the near future I am going to find Lana and take her to lunch and thank her for providing such an excellent service. Thanks again!"

Window Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The best homemade cleaning solution for windows is one gallon of warm, distilled or bottled water mixed with five to ten drops of liquid dish soap. This is what professional window cleaners typically use when they make their cleaning solutions. Using bottled or distilled water will help avoid hard water stains after cleaning, and the soap will cut through grease, smudges, and debris on your glass.

The most likely cause of smearing or streaking after cleaning your windows is residue left on the glass from the cleaner you’re using. Consider diluting the solution and cleaning them again, or use old newspaper to dry the windows after cleaning, as this will soak up any residual material. Additionally, aim to clean your windows on a cool, cloudy day, as cleaners will dry more quickly on the glass if it’s hot and sunny, promoting streaking.

Yes, you can use glass cleaner on outside windows, but only after you’ve rinsed away as much debris as possible. Using glass cleaner on top of a layer of dirt will only make it harder to clean.

Post-construction cleaning services typically include debris removal, dusting, vacuuming, wiping and sanitizing surfaces, window cleaning, and floor polishing. Depending on the scope, services may also extend to duct cleaning and general interior cleaning.

Window washing usually refers to cleaning dirt and other debris off of the exterior of your windows, while window cleaning is a much more involved process that addresses the outside and inside of the glass, as well as the interior components. Window washing is more to improve the aesthetic of your windows, while window cleaning can improve performance, reduce the risk of damage over time, and even improve your home’s energy efficiency.
