"They were very good on first two appointments. The second appointment they were late but called to let us now when they were coming. they never gave me the promised quote or design so I found someone else. It all sounded good but they just didn't seem to want to do a $14,000.00 job."

"I was walking around in Home Depot, looking at water heaters. His man was looking at them too. As I was looking at the cheaper one, unable to get help. This man started to help me and tell me the one I was looking at was good but, that I should get the one that was a little more. A Home Depot person come over started to help me. He too was telling to go with the water heater that this man just pointed out. I was told that Home Depot has contractors that can install it for me. The price was $300. just to put in. I don't have the money to put it in and buy the water heater too. So, the first man who was helping me told me that the city could help me buy it. That I just pay for in the city bill every month. He also told me he had a Handyman business, and that he would install it for $ 100. He gave me he's card. I thank him for all his help. Then I called him about a week later. We set a time. He came out right on time! He did the work and now I have long HOT showers. Thank You!"

"The service I received from Grizzly Design & Construction is beyond anything anyone can ask for. Orignally they were hired to remodel my bathroom and when issues arose Randy went above and beyond the call of duty. If you need ANY project this is the company to chose, hands down, without a doubt best service I have ever received."

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

Installing new kitchen countertops costs $1,850 to $4,450, with an average price of $3,140. Some materials, like marble and granite, are more expensive than others. Additionally, the size of the countertop impacts the overall price. Labor accounts for 10% to 20% of the overall project cost. Add-ons, like edging and corner treatments, also increase the cost.

Concrete and granite are both extremely durable materials. One isn’t necessarily better than the other. It depends on what you’re looking for. That said, granite is less costly and requires less maintenance. Furthermore, concrete is more prone to staining and cracking, though you can patch the cracks using a concrete patching compound.

It all comes down to rarity and demand. Granite rocks with unique patterns or rare colorways like red, purple, and blue are more expensive than traditional designs. Some types of blue granite are extremely rare, like Azul Aran and Blue Bahia, driving the price up even further. The most expensive type of all is a unique design called Van Gogh granite. As the name suggests, it sort of looks like a painting.

Corian® is a popular countertop alternative to quartz. Created from an acrylic resin and natural minerals, Corian® resembles quartz and offers some similar benefits, but it comes at a cheaper price. Corian® countertops cost an average of $26 to $65 per square foot, which is less than half of what quartz countertops usually cost. The downside is that Corian® isn’t as durable as quartz, particularly regarding its resistance to scratches and high temperatures.

Both marble and quartz are decent kitchen countertop choices for different reasons. Marble provides an elegant look that’s sure to attract eyeballs, which can add value to a home. However, this isn’t the most durable material around and is easily scratched and stained. Quartz may not offer a classic look like marble, but it is available in a wide range of colors and patterns. It’s also durable, with the ability to resist scratches and stains.
