Small jobs welcome

"Guys are friendly and very helpful. Wish the spray would have gotten in the cracks between the deck boards more evenly. Would also have liked to see more sanding to remove old paint drips. Other than that, the decks, steps, posts and railings look great."

"I hired Core Construction to replace shattered glass railings on two large decks. In the process he discovered that on corner of the two decks was four inches lower than the rest of the deck due to a rotting beam. Core Construction jacked up both decks [one above the other] replaced the rotted beam, poured new footings, replaced corner posts, painted all replaced lumber, and then replaced the glass panel railings with cable railings.  Their work was absolutely first class, they were reliable, always on site on time, and they cleaned up their mess and debris at the end of each day.  I was totally pleased with the work, their work ethic, and professionalism.  I would strongly recommend Core Construction for any work on a home.  Additionally, I watched them reroof my neighbor's house, paint the house and add rock wall siding to the lower level.  It all looked great.  Stacey Carlson, owner of Core Construction, is a man of his word and his is integrity beyond reproach."

"Ben and his crew did an excellent job on my house. Being very particular, I am a hard person to please and Ben not only meet but exceeded my expectations. The Crew was prompt, courteous, keep the area clean, and their bid was very competitive. Since first hiring Ben I’ve recommended him to several friends and clients and am on his books for two more personal painting projects, a duplex and a house. I would highly recommend Ben and his crew for any paint project that you have."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

You’ll need to wait until the surface is completely dry, which can take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours under optimal conditions. The waiting period depends on several factors, including the type of siding and the weather conditions. Trying to paint before the surface is completely dry can trap moisture under the paint, leading to bubbling, blistering, and mold growth.

Rags used with oil-based stains are highly flammable and can spontaneously combust in the right conditions. To reduce the fire risk, throw them in a metal container after use and add rocks on top to secure them. Add an inch of water and seal the container. Take the rags in the container to a hazardous waste factory as soon as possible.

Provided conditions are ideal, staining an entire deck should take as little as a couple of hours and up to a couple of days to apply and cure. Additional procedures, like sealing a deck or using additional treatments, may extend the project by a few additional days.

Ipe wood can last up to 75 years with minimal maintenance because its own oils help to preserve it. However, to get the most out of your Ipe wood deck, you should perform some routine maintenance, including regular cleaning, sweeping of leaves and debris, and rinsing spills with a hose. It’s also important to repair any deep scratches as soon as you spot them and reseal the deck annually to protect against scratches and scuffs.

By applying protective finishes and using durable materials that withstand weather and time.
