"Hatch Flooring did a FANTASTIC job, replacing an old tub with a tile shower with natural rock floor, as well as rock walls around the toilet, and splashback in the bathroom as well as kitchen. Ammon was great to work with on getting everything lined up, and Jared did an AMAZING job with the tile and rock, accommodating some unusual requests of ours of having natural rock edges. I would recommend Hatch Flooring to anyone. (Two years ago, we also had them carpet the entire house and tile a hearth around our woodstove - a great job on those projects, too!)"

"They were very good on first two appointments. The second appointment they were late but called to let us now when they were coming. they never gave me the promised quote or design so I found someone else. It all sounded good but they just didn't seem to want to do a $14,000.00 job."

You can technically install tile over tile, but we don’t suggest it. You can attach tiles to a wall using thin-set mortar. You’ll also need a notched trowel to create grooves within the adhesive so it flattens completely when pressed in and securely holds the wall tiles. Finally, you’ll need grout to smooth the gaps between the tiles and, ideally, a grout sealer to prevent mold. While it sounds simple enough, proper planning and execution are crucial, so carefully review the steps in this guide or hire a pro tile installer to complete this project.

Figure out how much tile you need by measuring the backsplash area. Measure the height and length in feet and multiply to get the square footage. Don’t make adjustments for outlets or small cutouts but subtract the square footage for windows or other large obstructions from the total. To account for waste, get 10% more than your calculation.

Replacing tile flooring can take a few days for a pro, but larger rooms will need more time. It takes eight to 12 hours for a tiling pro to remove old grout and tiles across 100 square feet.
