Hi there! I’m Jessica Richey, and I’m excited to introduce myself. First and foremost, I am a proud wife and mother, as well as a goal-driven person that you can always count on. I’ve been cleaning homes here in the Treasure Valley for many years now. For me, cleaning isn’t just a job — It’s a true passion and I actually find it incredibly therapeutic! When I’m not making spaces sparkle, you can usually find me outdoors, camping and soaking up quality time with my amazing family.

"Initially, our experience was not so positive (which is the reason for the "B" on professionalism), but ultimately, Jason Lochridge, the owner, went the extra mile to more than make things right.  Here is our story (and please read it to the end):

We purchased a discount coupon for gutter cleaning through Deal Saver.  The crew showed up on time.  They asked if they could use our trash container to dispose of the leaves in the gutters (something we found out later was not company policy), and my husband said "yes."  They put all the wet, dirty leaves in the container unbagged (also totally not company procedure -- they were supposed to bag everything and remove it from the premises).  My husband estimates there was about 100 pounds of gunk in the container.  They also splattered mud down the side of our house.

Not only did this make a terrible, sloppy mess in our garbage container, but it also turned very cold a few days later so that when he got ready to put the trash out for collection, he realized that the wet leaves in the bottom of the container (which was empty when they arrived) would freeze in a lump and likely not come out when the trash was emptied.  So he went to the store, bought some heavy-duty trash bags and cleaned the leaves out of the container (as many as he could -- it was still a mess -- absolutely filthy) and bagged them before putting the can at the curb.

They also overcharged us.  They told us we had 150 feet of gutter but would charge us for "only" 140.  Our coupon was good for 100 linear feet, so we paid for another 40 ($80).  My husband measured later, thinking 150 sounded like too much, and he got 115 feet.

I decided it was only fair to call ACI and give them a chance to make it right.  Jason came out to inspect the job and collect our garbage container to clean it.  He re-measured the gutters and told me that we had 118 feet, confirming that we had been over-charged.  He also asked me to step outside and look at the gutters.  He showed me a section that the employee accompanying him had wiped clean and said, "That is what your gutters were supposed to look like when they left."  The rest were really dirty.  Then he told me he had taken pictures of how the crew had left the gutters (dirty) and that it would be a topic in their Monday employee meeting.  He was very calm, but I could see that underneath, he was angry.

They cleaned the rest of the gutters off, cleaned the mud off the side of the house and took our garbage container away and cleaned that up, too.  Then they sent us a refund check.  I was expecting the amount we had been overcharged, but they refunded the entire $80!  So, yes, I will definitely hire them again and recommend them to others.

"I have upgraded carpet that is only 2 years old. I do not have kids and the carpet is in good shape. I just needed to have it cleaned since I haven't since it was put it. The people were all very friendly and courteous. The sons who came out to clean the floor were easy to be around. I have a spot underneath my chair in the living room that gets dark from suede slippers. They mentioned it but did not offer to spot clean. It did not come clean with the process they were using. It made me wonder how they get carpets cleaned that have more spots and more wear than mine get. Mine look exactly the same as when they arrived."

"Our first time with All American and I must say I was impressed. Our Service Technician was Oswaldo and he did a great job. He is a very personal guy, professional and I'd say a perfectionist with a strong work ethic. We will definitely use again and I highly recommend All American Carpet Cleaning."

Carpet Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Most carpet cleaning solutions are safe to use in the home. However, to avoid irritation and health issues you can look for a neutral, mild detergent, especially one that’s marked as nontoxic or eco friendly. When in doubt, always check out the ingredient list. Some cleaning options only use steam heat to clean with little or no detergent, which could be an option if you’re worried.

You should avoid using a pressure washer on any surface or item that could be damaged by the high-pressure spray, as some materials are too delicate to withstand the force.

Key items and surfaces to avoid include:

  • Electrical Components: Never pressure wash electrical systems, as water can cause short-circuits and create a safety hazard. This includes utility meters, breaker boxes, electrical outlets, generators, and HVAC or air conditioner units.

  • Delicate and Fragile Materials: Fragile items can crack, shatter, or be stripped by the pressure. Avoid pressure washing windows, glass, light fixtures, shingled roofs (especially asphalt), and stucco.

  • Painted, Stained, or Sealed Surfaces: Unless your goal is to strip the finish, do not pressure wash painted surfaces, stained wood (like decks), or anything with a protective seal that could be stripped away. Be especially cautious with older surfaces that may contain lead paint.

  • Soft Woods and Certain Decking: Delicate surfaces like softwood, composite decking, and antique or wooden patio furniture can be etched or damaged. If you must wash wood, use a lower-powered pressure washer with a wide-angle nozzle to prevent damage.

  • Living Things: Never use a pressure washer on people, pets, or plants. The force can cause serious injury and will destroy landscaping.

Regular vacuuming is essential in homes with animals and children to remove pet hair, dirt, and debris from the carpet's surface. Additionally, prompt cleaning of spills and accidents can prevent stains from setting in. Consider using carpet protectors or area rugs in high-traffic areas to minimize wear and tear on your new carpeting.

Leaving pee on a mattress for an extended period of time will make it harder to remove the moisture, increase the likelihood of unappealing stains forming, and make the urine odor linger for a longer time. Ideally, you should start cleaning a urine-soaked mattress immediately. You can start by spraying a 1:1 solution of white distilled vinegar and water over the stain and then blotting it out. Then, sprinkle baking soda over the affected area, let it sit for 8 to 10 hours, and then vacuum it out. If the issue persists, you might need to dispose of your mattress and replace it.

The best cleaner to remove soot depends on the surface material and the type of fire, but consider dish soaps or degreasers, baking soda, rubbing alcohol, and hydrogen. Low-oxygen fires often leave behind greasy soot, which is best removed with dish soaps or degreasers. Baking soda can be useful for absorbing soot deposits from carpets, followed by rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide to clean the set-in stains.
