"Wow!! In a neighborhood full of rushed, incomplete yard companies Window Master stepped up and knocked big name yard companies down!! We have never had snow removal at an 1" before with ice melt on our steps!! No major contracts Dec-Feb for snow. Incredible, so happy we made the move!!! "They have done furnace work sprinkler repairs. Repairs to stairs with cement and bricks. The furnace was old and literally he was the only one that could do the repair. They are prompt very reliable and courteous. You will not want to hire anyone else after you hire them. Very knowledgeable person. Very fair priced. Super nice too!"

Windows questions, answered by experts

Common problems include broken latches, misaligned tracks, and worn seals. Regular inspection prevents major repairs.

The entire window replacement process, from the initial consultation to the final installation, typically takes between four and 15 weeks. This timeline accounts for measuring appointments, ordering, and manufacturing. On the day of the job, the physical installation takes about 30 minutes to two hours per window. A full-house replacement can take one to three days to complete. Factors that can extend this timeline include the total number of windows, custom sizes, complex window types, second-story installations, and any necessary repairs to existing window frames or openings.

If you decide to forgo your old windows and upgrade them to modern day technology, there may be some people interested in the old windows. You can try selling them on an online marketplace for around $50 to $100 each (so long as the window wasn’t damaged during the removal). This can also help off set the overall price to replace them.

Glass block windows typically last for 15 to 30 years, which is slightly less than the 20- to 50-year lifespan of standard windows. You can extend their life by resealing them every few years. Professional installation is also key to ensuring the windows are placed correctly and will function properly for years to come. A professional installer will have the necessary skills, tools, and knowledge to install these features and can identify potential issues like damaged frames or cramped areas during a consultation.

Whether you need a permit to install a bay window depends on the project's scope. Replacing an existing bay window typically does not require a permit. However, if you are adding a new bay window, requirements can vary. Adding a new bay window to the front of your house usually requires a building permit, while adding one to the side or back of your house often does not. It's always best to check with your local municipality to confirm the specific requirements in your area. Additionally, if you live in a historic district, you should consult your neighborhood association to ensure your project complies with their construction guidelines. If you're unsure about the process, a professional can provide guidance.
