They did good quality work. They sticked to the price we had agreed upon. They gave me updates as the job was going on.

  • Friday Construction
    5.0
I’ve used Friday Const. on several jobs: adding a room, remodeling a master bath, repairing some rot, custom-building an entertainment center. Matt isn’t the fastest or cheapest, but he keeps a clean job site, his workmanship is second to none, he is conscientious, he works with the owner to resolve any problems, and he makes sure the owner is happy with the final result.

  • Westgard Woodworks
    5.0
I contacted Westgard Woodworks regarding a custom fireplace surround in my home. While I did not have a final design in mind, Kip Westgard helped guide me through some different ideas. He was patient, professional and completely transparent about the cost of the project. Furthermore, Kip is incredibly trustworthy. My wife and I felt completely comfortable leaving him to work in our home installing our cabinetry while we were away at work. And most importantly, the end product that Westgard Woodworks accomplished was exceptionally crafted, elegant, and one of a kind. If you want to create something in your home that makes a statement, go to Kip- you wont be disappointed!

Great, they work up the ideas and setup all that was needed. This was a big project that took a lot of careful thought and planning.

From the very beginning Ray and his team were very professional, provided excellent customer service and delivered a wonderful product all while hitting their estimated project cost. It was evident from the begInning when Ray, the owner, came over for the quote and he began assisting my wife and I on picking the correct doors that would work best, choosing hardware that worked with the doors, giving us many examples of his work by showing pictures on his IPad and more. Ray was genuine and never pushy in discussing the project. He never tried selling us "extras" as many do. He listened to our vision, helped us tweak that vision to work in the space we had and executed a fantastic plan to bring our outdated kitchen to our new modern kitchen we had dreamed of. Rays staff were all very respectful of our home, laying down rugs to protect floors, putting up zipper walls to contain dust and cleaned up every night before they left. This crew was dedicated to their company and our project. They drove 2 hrs one way everyday for almost 2 weeks completing our project. I can not say enough about the staff and how professional they all were. If you choose any other company to do your project, you are paying too much and I guarantee you are not getting the kind of customer service you would be getting from Nu-Life. If you are going to do a cabinet reface and can't decide whether or not to do the mittened doors or not, ALWAYS choose the mittened doors! They are more money but way worth it. The doors they put on where custom made by them in their shop and they are amazing. They have heavy duty, detachable door hardware that makes cleaning the doors so easy. Our tile and stone back splash makes the entire project and was our favorite part. Since your doors will be taken off and replaced in a refacing, spend a little extra and have them add the large pull out drawers that make accessing pots and pans so much easier. We also changed our lazy Suzanne and love it. Our bathroom project was smaller but just as fantastic. We took out a 1 sink cheap looking vanity and Nu-Life replaced it with a custom 2 sink, solid service wave bowl double sink vanity. It came complete with custom mirror frames they matched to the rope mittened doors we chose, new lighting above each sink and an on counter cabinet that splits the 2 sinks. The bathroom project required drywall tear out, electrical and plumbing additions, drywall repair, cabinet and sink installs. The quality of work was outstanding and this project turned out just as good as the kitchen. Out of both projects I only had 1 issue. They lowered the kitchen bar on our island to a more usable height. After they lowered it, I noticed the top counter was a bit loose. I brought it to the attention of the supervisor and he immediately fixed the problem and it is solid as a rock. He never complained or tried to push it off, he fixed it without question or complaint. These crews worked so hard and so efficient while they were here and we appreciated that very much.

They're wonderful. They're super. I don't have anything bad to say about them. They're very good about coming out and looking at stuff as well as fixing it if they can. They're very helpful.

Very attentive. Fair estimate and followup with contractors. Didn't treat it as a little knock-off job. Ensured quality and satisfaction.

  • Cabinets Galore
    5.0
We really had a good experience with the Cabinets Galore crew in Hiawatha for our kitchen remodel this last fall for the following reasons: Patience - first and foremost! We knew we wanted new cabinets with some specific features, but we didn't know what we really wanted as far as color, door style, etc. They spent a good deal of time asking us how we wanted to use the kitchen (entertainment kitchen, daily use kitchen, etc), what our budget was, how we "honestly" would use the kitchen (stuff that may look nice in the showroom may not be practical for daily use). They walked us through the pros/cons of the various wood species and cabinet features. Finally, they were a great sounding board for us once we narrowed down our choices...what color combinations actually worked, what really wouldn't work, etc. Flexible - When we remodeled our kitchen, we had a couple of options on how we could have laid out the cabinets. They went through the extra effort of rendering both drawings so we could have an idea of how it might look and how the measurements would actually work with our layout. Detail - They made multiple trips to our house to get the measurements THEY needed. We obviously started with the rough measurements that we brought in, but they made sure they had the measurements they needed to make certain they could deliver the product properly. One of the bits of detail that really made a difference for us was that we had one wall that was going to have bunch of cabinets on it. When they were doing the work to lay out the cabinets on their software, they felt that it looked too "flat". Their suggestion was to place a slightly deeper cabinet at the end of the row of cabinets to give the kitchen a little more "texture". THAT'S what we wanted. Someone to look out for us while doing this. Pricing - We priced cabinets and countertops at a big box store that we felt we could live with. Weren't that excited about them, but they were ok. We really figured Cabinets Galore would be out of reach for our budget. Turns out, they could give us a better quality product, at about the same price and we REALLY like what we purchased from them. We found them to be a great group to work with and highly recommend them.

We had gotten three estimates from other locations, but Hamm's was the only company who actually came out to see the space and measure it before working on the estimate. We worked with Helen, who was professional and a joy to work with. One corner cabinet came and was incorrect, and the company made a new one and had it delivered the next week. Hamm's recommended a countertop installer, who was punctual and professional as well. We would recommend Hamm's, paticularly the designer we worked with.
