"Steve was knowledge and patient. He took extra time and measures to ensure I felt comfortable with the process and went by my requests for boundaries via the flag placements and gave clear instructions yet gave options letting me feel I was in charge. We brainstormed together and his expertise was a guiding hand to help enable a smoothe experience. He sent me 2 links to reinforce the training process! I am the sole employee of Madden's hammer. As stated on my business card "snow job too small, some jobs to big" meaning even though I could do large jobs it will take longer for the fact that it's just me. Billing services can be by the hour or by bid. My motto has always been customer satisfaction and customer service our priority. I have well over 25 years of experience and there is very little that I have not seen or done.

Animal Fencing questions, answered by experts

Most privacy fences are easy to install if you’re going with a DIY-friendly option like a wood fence, vinyl fence, or pallet fence. Since pallet fences come in the form of pre-constructed fence panels, they’re often considered the easiest privacy fence to install. Just get your fence stakes in the ground and slide the pallets onto them before securing them with scrapboard.

Since wood is weaker when installed horizontally versus vertically, a horizontal fence is prone to sagging. You can prevent this drooping from happening by building a sturdier fence. Use softwoods that are more stable, such as cedar and redwood, or denser hardwoods for your fence materials. If you can’t afford these pricey materials, use thicker two-by-six pressure-treated pine boards or shorten the span the fence boards have to cover by installing more posts.

A bamboo fence can last up to 20 years when properly installed and maintained. Bamboo is a durable material, but to get the most life out of it, you should clean and seal the fence every few years. Staining the bamboo can also restore the appearance if the color fades over time. Use screws to fasten the bamboo, rather than twine, to ensure the bamboo fence stays together longer.

You can use pressure-treated wood for a horizontal fence, but you’ll need to purchase a thicker and higher-quality variety to ensure it doesn’t sag or warp after you install it. Use #2 pine grade lumber and boards and thicker dimensional lumber, such as a two-by-six. You’ll also need to use stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized fasteners, as the chemicals in the treated lumber will cause regular galvanized fasteners to rust.

You’ve likely been considering lots of wood fence ideas for your yard. There are many reasons why people choose split rail fences time and again. For one, they’re one of the most wallet-friendly fencing options, especially since you don’t need to use much hardware and setting the posts doesn’t require concrete or foam. So if you have a large property and want to fence it in, your best bet may be a split rail fence.
