I presented a problem which Dave was able to remedy quickly! The idea he had was genius and it is perfect! Takedown and removal both went great and they left me with just my beautiful new deck!!! "We were nothing but impressed from our first interaction with Ken and Linda Buford.  They returned our initial call immediately and even came out that night to assess the project's time and cost.  We received a written estimate and paint samples in very timely manner.  Once we scheduled the job, Ken and Linda worked as a team to prep and paint the area.  Their attention to detail was evident from the start of the work.  The work was extremely thorough and done quickly.  I would consider myself a "picky" client and they definitely exceeded my expectations. The edging and trim work were clean and the lines were impeccable. They use 2 coats of quality paint.  They cleaned up everything and left no messes. I appreciated that they listened carefully to what we wanted done, gave us some suggestions and delivered a beautiful end result.  There was nothing I would have had them do differently.  Anymore, I don't think you find many talented, true professionals, like Ken, who can deliver such stellar results.  I would recommend them beyond a shadow of a doubt.  In fact, because they did such a fantastic job, we are having them paint the outside of our house as well."

Brady is the best you'll ever find for home remodeling projects.
Showed up on time. Took the time to make ever job right.
Projects were worked on over a number of months, one at a time.

The best and most honest tradesmen I've ever found.
We moved to Texas in January of 2014.  We whish Brady could have come with us.
I've found some good (and bad) people to work on the Texas home.  But no one who comes close to the quality of work done by Brady Brower.

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

Before installing any materials under the deck for removing moisture, you should perform some prep work on the ground. Work the dirt under the deck to create a grade away from the home. A grade of at least six inches for every 10 feet works well. Do not leave a gap between the dirt and the home’s foundation where water could pool. Once you or a contractor regrades the dirt under the deck, you then can add materials over the top.

It’s best to prime composite decking before painting. This promotes better paint adhesion, helps create a smooth finish, and can mean the paint job will last longer. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application, allow ample primer drying time before painting (typically 24 to 48 hours), and thoroughly clean the deck boards to promote the best adhesion.

Floating decks are a cost-effective and versatile option, but they come with some compromises. Since they sit on smaller footings instead of being deeply anchored, they’re more likely to shift over time, especially in areas with heavy rainfall or freeze-thaw conditions. Their low-to-the-ground design makes them more susceptible to moisture buildup and potential water damage.

Local building codes don’t specify the number of steps a deck can have before a railing is required, mainly because stair height varies widely. Most areas require decks 30 inches or higher to have a railing. While not exact, that roughly equates to four to seven steps.

An above-ground pool with a deck can increase your home's value by as much as 4% to 7%, but it depends on your local climate, potential buyers, and the size and condition of your pool. Some buyers see a pool as a liability instead of a luxury, especially if it's at the end of its life span. In general, it's best to add a pool and deck to your property if it will bring you enjoyment—not because it raises the value of your home.
