"I can’t say enough good things about INNOVATIVE BUILDERS HI! From start to finish, working with them was an amazing experience. I hired them for our home, and they exceeded all my expectations. First off, Chris the owner has an incredible knowledge of Hawaiian construction techniques, which was really important for me since I wanted to make sure the project aligned with local regulations and environmental considerations. He also has a great eye for detail, ensuring that everything was not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing, blending seamlessly with the beauty of our Hawaiian surroundings. The team was professional, courteous, and respectful throughout the entire process. They kept me updated at every step, made sure the site was clean and safe, and worked efficiently to stay on schedule. I also appreciated that they took the time to explain things clearly, always answering my questions and providing valuable advice. What really stood out was their dedication to quality."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

Small jobs welcome

"We had around 450 sq ft of deck and railing, as well as some major supporting structures in need of repair. Christian and his crew, Joshua and Stan, secured the railing, repaired the old deck and replaced deck posts, supporting beam and joists. We are very impressed with the quality of workmanship and the attention to detail.. Throughout the project, Christian was always available for discussion and feedback. Christian started and ended the project as proposed. We feel very safe and secure walking around the deck and we will call Christian again for our next home improvement project."

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Most states and municipalities don’t require concrete mudjacking companies to carry a specific license, but they usually need to have a general contractor’s license, and they should be fully insured. The only exception is if the mudjacking company provides foundation repairs as well, or if it offers mudjacking for home foundations. In that case, they will typically need a foundation repair contractor’s license. You can check state requirements and then use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that a company is properly licensed to provide mudjacking services in your area.

A slurry of cement, sand, and water is injected beneath the concrete to lift and stabilize it.

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.

It’s best not to perform mudjacking in the winter unless the ground temperature remains above freezing. Freezing temperatures can cause the slurry to harden too quickly, compromising its strength and longevity. Concrete is also more susceptible to cracking and splitting in cold temperatures, so there’s a higher risk of damaging the slab during the drilling and lifting process in winter.

Charges correlate with surface size, settlement depth, and access, often yielding significant savings over concrete replacement.
