"Leo's Painting

We liked the job ultimately that Leo's Painting did, there was a couple little things that slipped through the cracks which maybe part their fault and part mine. One was, I am not sure if he put in mildew sides, we discussed before and I didn't follow it up like I should of and I have a feeling it wasn't put in. The job they did was very good, I had no problems with any of the people, they were punctual and in general it was a good experience compared to other experiences I have had in the city.."

"Alan, the owner of the business, was a pleasure to work with. After describing what I needed done, he scheduled measuring/estimation and completed that promptly. He brings samples out to you and chooses high quality materials for a reasonable price. He has the brand names that you would typically see in other big chain flooring and window covering stores. I always prefer supporting small local businesses like this one though. I cannot stress enough how amazing the quality of work is and Alan makes sure to pay attention to detail. If something doesn't look right, he will make sure it does. Highly recommended; I will use them again when it's time to upgrade!"

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

To layer wallpaper over wallpaper, inspect your existing wallpaper for problem areas. Damaged wallpaper should not be covered. If it’s okay to proceed, prep by turning off the electricity and removing any outlet and switch covers. Dust your walls and lightly rinse them to prevent the existing paper from peeling. Apply primer, then apply your new wallpaper.

It is less costly to paint than wallpaper when you only consider the upfront cost. Wallpaper costs $320 to $820 when applied by a pro, while paint only costs $200 to $700 per room. However, when comparing wallpaper versus paint, consider the long-term as well. Wallpaper can save you money over time since it has a much longer life span than paint.

Wallpaper in bathrooms can last anywhere from one to 10 years, depending on what type was used, how well it was installed, and the measures in place to reduce moisture and humidity levels. Opting for a more durable variety and taking all the necessary protective measures will get you closer to that longer lifespan.

Yes, you can put wallpaper in a bathroom, but whether it's a good idea depends on several factors. Because bathrooms are high-humidity areas, it's crucial to choose a water-resistant wallpaper, such as one made of vinyl. Proper wall preparation is also critical to ensure the paper adheres well, even after many steamy showers. The wallpaper's placement also affects its longevity; it will hold up better on an accent wall or away from direct water contact, rather than immediately next to a shower. A well-ventilated bathroom will yield the best results.

Deciding between a lighter or darker accent wall depends on the effect you’re going for. Choosing an accent wall in a lighter color will make a room feel brighter and more spacious and complement rooms with less natural light. A darker accent wall will add drama and depth to a room and help make larger rooms feel more cozy and intimate.
