"We hired Shirley and her wonderful 2-man crew to pull out old carpet and install our new floor. We had attended a workshop Kahala Floors conducted and we appreciated the personal attention to detail during the workshop. We could not be happier with the scheduling, the removal and disposal of all old material, the care of proper installation, plus the results. Her crew began on the day scheduled and finished the project 2 days ahead of predictions. At all times the crew kept us in touch with their plans and we worked around each other to make this all happen while my wife and I continued to live in the apartment. Kahala Floors is both professional and personable at the same time. They deliver what they promise and the results make us happy each passing day. And, if that werenʻt enough, their quote (which they stuck to through completion) was thousands of dollars below the other big, name-brand flooring company. Stay Local!"

"Big renovation job done in a month. Lots of energy, lots of can-do. Lightening fast and professional flooring work, all by himself. Did a ton of extra small jobs for us too, from installing bathroom cabinets to fabricating a dishwasher cabinet. Also brought in a fantastic painter, plumber and electrician as needed. No problem was too big, very experienced and confident. Got the job done!"

"We love our dining room! Kyle was able to transform our spare bedroom into a beautiful dining room complete with upper and lower cabinets, drawers, a butcher block countertop, extra electrical outlets, and space for a refrigerator! He also tiled the entire first floor with a beautiful herringbone designed pattern and it is beautiful! Our guests are constantly complimenting our home and we love it! Kyle was very easy to work with and very responsive to all of our needs. We would definitely recommend him for any remodeling work you need and we will definitely be working with him again!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

There could be several reasons why your carpet padding has adhered to the floor. Some of the most common reasons include:

  • There was intentional gluing or stapling to the surface.

  • The polyurethane and floor bonded over years of wear.

  • Pet urine, spills, or other substances leaked through the carpet and created a sticky surface.

If the carpeting in the home has not been changed in a long time, clearing off the padding underneath could be difficult. Pet urine can wreak havoc on carpeting and the flooring underneath. If you plan to reinstall carpeting, remember to use proper cleaning techniques for removing pet urine odors to prevent future problems.

Yes, marble floors do increase home values. In fact, if you install marble flooring in your home, you can expect to double your investment. Homebuyers love marble, like other types of stone flooring, because it’s timeless, beautiful, wears well, and is considered a luxury product. Marble is expensive to install, but if your house and location attract buyers looking for luxurious, upscale vibes, adding marble flooring can only raise your property value and give you a great return on your investment.

Berber is the most expensive type of carpet, followed by textured carpet. Berber costs $3 to $20 per square foot, and textured carpet ranges from $1 to $12 per square foot. Berber features fibers arranged in short, thick loops, making it extraordinarily durable. The most expensive carpet material is wool, followed by acrylic, Triexta, and cotton. Wool costs $4 to $20 per square foot and is a beautiful, luxurious, and durable material. Acrylic, Triexta, and cotton range from $2 to $8 per square foot.

Depending on carpet type and labor, costs range from $3 to $12 per square foot.

Yes, you can technically make a crawl space liveable, but the only way to do so is by converting it into a basement. While some crawl spaces are big enough to walk through and store large items, they lack appropriate insulation and space to be liveable.
