"Great company! We had a bathroom remodel done to our master bathroom. Mack and his crew were phenomenal with the remodel. Great quality carpentry work along with great tile work. We converted our garden tub and shower to a walk in shower. They pay great attention to detail also. The price we were quoted was what we paid. Again, great company. We will definitely be using them in the future. Contact them directly +1 (706) 715-0439 - Juri"

"Trevor has been an amazing contractor who has helped us through the process of installing a large interior door for an office. He has helped ensure the space was properly prepared for installation of the door. The other contractors who have assisted Trevor have also exceeded my expectations. They have been extremely detail oriented and have done everything to ensure the best outcome. I would definitely work with Trevor for any future projects."

"We had an excellent experience with K&W Construction for our deck project. From the first consultation to the final walkthrough, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. They helped us with the design, explained our options clearly, and stayed on schedule throughout the entire process. The workmanship is outstanding—every detail was done with care and precision. The crew kept the job site clean and treated our home with respect. Our new deck is beautiful, solid, and exactly what we wanted. We’ve already received countless compliments on it! Small jobs welcome

"Robert is incredible. He went beyond what we ask of him, which was building hand rails for my elderly mother's house. He also added extra designs to give it a better appeal (and not just build rails that only meet their purpose), and he didn't add the cost onto the original qoute. After he completed his work, we see Robert as more than just a great contractor/handyman, we consider him family at this point. We plan to hire him again...soon!"

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Learning how to frame a house includes picking the right lumber for the job. Most people will want to pick pine, spruce, or fir for the framing. These types of lumber are affordable and produce sturdy framing for structures. Look for kiln-dried lumber to reduce the risk of shrinkage or insect damage after installation. As part of what’s included in framing a house when you hire a professional, the contractor should order the lumber, so you don’t have to worry about finding the right lumber.

An A-frame home can be cheaper to build than a traditional house, but that is not always a given. Prices can be fairly similar in some cases, depending on the location, design, and necessary site preparation. Costs for an A-frame typically run between $100 to $200 per square foot, which is comparable to the cost of a traditional home. The cost of an A-frame can come in under those numbers if you opt for a prefabricated kit.

Yes, a 2x6 should hold a porch swing and safely support the load. A smaller joist runs the risk of it not offering enough support for the swing. If you have a joist smaller than 2x6, add additional bolstering support.

Removing a load-bearing wall affects the structural integrity of your home, so you’ll need a permit before starting the work. Building codes vary by municipality, and obtaining a permit and having the work inspected after completion will ensure you’re in compliance with all applicable regulations.

Converting a carport into a garage can vary in difficulty depending on its configuration, the condition of the foundation or slab, and its location relative to the house. The process has a lot in common with a home addition, but you can often skip non-essential finishes like fine flooring, trim work, or even drywall and HVAC. The conversion requires experience with drywall, insulation, and other building materials to ensure it’s done safely and correctly. While it might be possible for a DIYer with the proper tools and skills to do the work, it is a complicated and potentially dangerous job. If you’re new to basic construction, it's best to leave this project to the professionals.
