"Lady s Drywall Team did a great job painting our 4 walls over 14 feet high. This was an emergency paint job. Lady s Drywall promptly gave an estimate and completed the job the very next day. Her team arrived early, protected the floor area and baseboards, and finished in a timely manner. They were professional and had the proper equipment to complete the job. My family is pleased with the end results and the walls look amazing."

"Terri and her team did a wonderful job, despite unforeseen challenges that were uncovered during the project. Plaster walls and multiple holes from outlet installation in a very old house created some issues. However, the team resolved them and did so with professional and kind attitudes. Great to work with and the finished product is absolutely stunning! Mark LaClaire"

"Excellent handyman! He installed a ceiling fan, replaced a towel rack, and repaired a leaking dishwasher hose. He was professional, informative, and did quality work. We appreciated the helpful suggestions he provided for other home projects. We’ll definitely be hiring him again to paint our fence. Highly recommend, Thank you Drew!"

"Rio Bravo construction is an excellent company. If you employ them you would be making one of the best decisions of your life. I have had a very hard time over the years finding a good company for home projects. I have finally found one in Rio Bravo. They will not disappoint and they do not cut corners. Rio Bravo has renovated my master bathroom and my guess bathroom and currently renovating my powder room among other projects that I have been waiting a long time to get done. My projects went well above expectations. Julio is the owner and is a very kind person and easy to work with. My friends could not believe the high quality projects that Julio completed. One friend was even speechless."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Yes, even if you’re being careful, removing tile can damage your drywall to some degree. However, you can minimize the damage done to it by eliminating a majority of the grout and taking your time prying each tile off. Also, it's worth noting that you might have more drywall damages to deal with if your tile is set into the mortar.

Plaster that sags or bulges, shows extensive deep cracks, or is crumbling from water damage or simply time may need replacement. Plaster walls can look a little “worn” for a long time before they need replacing. The only real way to know if it needs a replacement is to hire a professional to assess the condition of the plaster.

A common cause of separation between a wall and the ceiling is truss lift—this can happen to the ceiling of rooms directly under the attic when the seasons change and wood building materials dry out, shrink, and shift. Roof trusses often dry out at different speeds, and if the bottom pieces dry out faster than the top pieces, they can shrink and pull the attached drywall away from ceilings and walls, causing cracks. Fortunately, truss lift is only a cosmetic problem, not a structural problem, and you can fix it by separating the ceiling drywall from the roof trusses, and patching the cracks.

Popular wall textures include orange peel, knockdown, spray sand, and smooth finishes. Orange peel and knockdown are particularly common choices for drywall as they are simple and cost-effective. Orange peel texture has a lightly bumpy surface resembling the skin of an orange, while knockdown (sometimes called knockout) looks like a stucco finish with flattened high spots. In contrast, popcorn texture has fallen out of fashion, partly due to its past association with asbestos and a shift toward more restrained interior design styles.

If you only have tiny holes in your drywall (for example, dents or nail marks), you probably won’t need a patch kit. Instead, you can plug the hole with a small amount of spackle. Once the spackle dries, you can sand the area and paint over it—just like you would in the steps outlined above.
