"Jeff's solution has resolved water in the basement. The basement was flooding with up to 1/2" of water after any major rain. There hasn't been the slightest amount of water since installed in 2005. I wasn't going to install the sump because of the extra cost, I'm glad we did as we can hear the sump pump running during and after major rainfalls. The dust from cutting the concrete floor will get into everything, This includes items "covered" with plastic unless it is completely sealed. Don't leave any item during construction you cherish and ensure inside doors are sealed to keep the dust out. Moving the A/C Heating unit was another obstruction and choice to make as AAA doesn't disconnect any electrical or remove any fixed items (ductwork in my case). Without moving the unit , the trench was going in front of it instead of including it. I did the work to ensure full perimeter protection. Keep in mind that the new concrete will not match the old in smoothness or color. The new concrete is a much stronger type so there are no worries of weakness for the floor. "

By average I mean their quote was about in the middle or lower of what you should pay for concrete, everyone else seems to be quote on the top end or higher than what you should be paying. Their quality of work was also top notch! I contacted them late week and asked if they could be here Monday and they were here right on time Monday morning. They brought in professional heavy duty equipment to level the yard and prep the space, ordered the truck and the whole project down and cleaned up by that same afternoon. Even better, they did not destroy any of my yard, even with the heavy duty excavator in my back yard or having to roll concrete all the way back there. The rest of my yard looks the same as before they came! The concrete patio was an extension to an existing piece but 4 times bigger and they match the slop and finish perfectly. Keep in mind that even with a bonding agent, large cracks and other flaws will still come through. If the concrete has heaved, settled, or cracked, pouring new concrete on top won’t address any root structural problems. Removing the existing concrete and rebuilding will be your best solution in that case.
