"Stingray Clearing &Tree Service are the best. They removed a dead tree that was in a particularly bad spot next to a walk bridge and didn’t do any damage to the structure. I used other tree services and these guys are head and shoulders above the rest. They also did a good job of clean up before they left the work site."

"I chose Tru Cut Tree Experts after reviewing several companies and getting quotes and I'm glad I did. Drew the owner of the company gave me a fair and reasonable price for cutting, removing, and trimming for about 50 trees that were very close to my home. Drew and his crew showed up on time and completed the work in the amount of time he said it would take. They were are very friendly and worked efficiently together and did a great cleanup job. I had asked them to leave the clippings on my property to use later around my trees. I was pleasantly surprised and delighted when I arrived home and found that they had spread some of the chips around some of my trees for me. They went above and beyond in providing customer satisfaction. They have a customer for life. I highly recommend Tru Cut for all of your tree services. If you chose them, you'll be a very satisfied customer too."

"5-star experience! I highly recommend working with Randall and his Murphy Miller Tree Service team for your next tree project! Top-notch customer service and communication! He was professional, personable, and courteous in all his interactions with me, my wife, kids, and elderly mother. Felt like a member of the family. He gave me a fast and fair quote for removing a bunch of trees that were near my house, including a few giant pine trees. Randall and his team went above and beyond to be intentional about not tearing up my yard and were very considerate in cleaning up after themselves. If you live in the Atlanta area, you'll be glad that you called Murphy Miller Tree Service for your next tree project! I'd rate him 10 stars if Google would let me. Support a great locally-owned Georgia small business, and give Randall a call today!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

If you’re wondering whether you can plant a tree where the stump was removed, know that the soil conditions won’t be ideal, so you should avoid it. The soil beneath the previous tree will likely be depleted of nutrients, plus there may be roots left behind that will seriously hinder the growth of a new tree. Also, if you use salt or other chemical solutions to kill the stump, these can linger in the soil for months or even years and prevent healthy growth. It’s best to choose a different spot that’s at least three feet away for a new tree, or wait at least a year and thoroughly amend the soil before you plant.

On average, tree removal costs around $750, with a typical range between $200 and $2,000. The final price depends on several factors, including the tree's height, trunk diameter, species, and overall health. Accessibility is also a key factor; costs will be higher if the tree is in a hard-to-reach area or located near structures like power lines or your home. Additional costs may apply for services such as stump removal (which can add $100 to $150), log-splitting, debris cleanup, and obtaining necessary permits. It is also customary to tip the professional, usually between $20 and $100.

Yes, it’s okay to trim low branches on a tree, also known as limbing up or raising the crown. Essentially, you’ll trim the lower third of the tree (trunk) and leave the upper two-thirds of the tree (crown). Arborists recommend trimming 20% of a tree’s leaves per season for two to three seasons. Trimming low branches allows light to flow through the tree, increasing circulation and making the tree stronger and healthier.

If you don’t trim your palm trees, you can expect several negative outcomes, including:

  • Unhealthy palm trees attract pests, diseases, and fungi

  • Dead falling fronds can cause severe injury or damage to your home, pedestrians, or cars

  • Dead palm branches are flammable and can catch fire, especially during a lightning storm

How often and long you should water a tree depends on the species and if it is mature or newly planted. The amount of water is also based on the tree's size. A good rule of thumb is approximately 5 gallons per inch of the trunk's diameter.

Adjusting watering to the recommended suggestions for the tree type and weather conditions is vital. For instance, watering trees during a drought is necessary, and you may need to water more frequently than usual.
