Sept 5, 2014- I received a call from my tenants saying that the fence people were here planting the new fence post.
Sept. 8, 2014- At about 9:00 a.m. I received a call from my tenant saying that the fence people were there removing the old gate. I asked her to please call me when they get done. I received the call telling me they were done and the gate was not even and it had a big gap on the bottom. I asked her if her dogs could get out and she said no. I told her that I would be by after work to look it over.
I arrived at my rental property and was surprised at the workmanship of the new gate. There was approximately a five inch gap on one side of the gate and a three inch on the other side. Neither side was trimmed evenly and looked like someone just used a sawsall to cut the bottom nothing was straight. There was a two inch gap in the center and the top was not even with the rest of the fence. I was shocked to think that I was expected to pay $692 for a gate that looked like this.
I did not contact Houston Fence until I received a bill notice in the mail on Sept I went back to my rental property on Sept 12 and called Houston Fence and requested Mr. Taggart meet me at the house so we could discuss the gate. I talked to Mrs. Taggart and requested that Mr. Taggart meet me at my property. She informed me that he was out on estimates appointments but she would give him a call and have him contact me. She asked me what was wrong with the gate and I told exactly what was wrong and she would tell Mr. Taggart.
I waited for 45 minutes and never received a call. So I called Houston Fence back and talked to Mrs. Taggart once again and she had informed me that she had in fact contacted Mr. Taggart and relayed my message. I asked her if they had someone go by their works sites and inspect the progress of progressing work and the finished product and she informed me that they did not normally inspect the job sites. I said maybe they should start. We said our good byes and I hung up.
September 17, 2014- I heard nothing from Houston Fence until September 17, 2014 at about 1:30 to
3:30 p.m. Mr. Taggart had apologized and told me that he got my message from his wife and that he was so busy that he had not had a chance to contact me back that day. I asked him if he had had a chance to drive by and look at the gate and the state it was in and he said no. He also told me that the gate stiffeners (pieces of metal that is connected from the upper corner to the lower corner for stabilization) sometimes break. He told me that the problem he was having was that he had no welder to repair the metal frame which I thought odd because Houston Fence promotes that they have been in business since 1971 they do these types of gates all the time they should have welders I thought.
Mr. Taggart told me that his crew will be getting a welder this coming Friday, September 19, 2014 and he will his crew repair the fence and replace the slats.
I told him that if he just install new slats to the ground that I would dig out the ground so the gate could open and he said ok.
September 19, 2014- I left work at 1100a.m. because my Mother-n-Law was near death and we had no idea how much longer she would hold on. I needed to run some errands with my three boys before going home. So I quickly drove by my rental house to see if any progress had been done on the drive gate. As I drove by I noticed that there had in fact NOT been any work done on the gate. I walked up to the house and asked my tenant if she had seen any workers around the fence and she said no. So I left. My Mother-n-Law passed away at 2:15p.m. that very same afternoon in her home.
September 24, 2014- Still have not heard from Houston Fence Co. and the drive gate is still Unfinished.
September 26. 2014- 1125 Received a call from my renters saying that a person was outside working on the fence gate. Stated that he repaired the broken weld of the gate frame and then left shortly after. I received a call about 30 minutes later from my renter saying that the worker was back and that his boss told him to completely redo the fence. He replaced all the fence slats to the ground. and left. I ended up going out the following day and raising the gate up 2 inched from the ground in order to be able to open the gate.
October 3, 2014- I received a call from Chris Taggart Houston Fence telling me that the gate was complete and we could meet and settle up. I was unable to meet with him due to me being out of town that day.

Casey, I wanted to provide you an update on my backyard your Team worked on last month... Today I finished the following: - Removing Pine Straw - Installing Metal Edging - Installing Weed Barrier - Replacing drainage pipe The reason I am sharing this information is because I have been struggling since I paid in full (8-13-2013). I had communicated to you some concerns along the way, but apparently failed to follow through to a point where there was some sort of resolution. Besides the $3,875 I paid you last month, we also paid you $200 for the design fee...Totaling $4, 075 to landscape my backyard. I can't argue that you installed what the proposal said, but I feel compelled to convey my frustration with the quality and attention to detail. $4000 is a lot of money for my Family and I just don't see it when I sit on my patio. Attention to detail: - Covered two sprinkler heads (One with weed barrier and rock)...I told you about this and it was never resolved - The drain tube going from the smaller North step out the gate was cut in half and water was shooting up...there is no-way this wasn't noticed - There was no weed barrier installed in the planting areas (See attached results)... - Pine straw appeared to be old and dried out...edging was not crisp and rounded. Some type of edging to separate grass and flower beds...looked like it was just dumped in place I called Paulk Landscaping because of an advertisement area on Watson I thought was sharp...We met and my wife and I liked you. "Nice guy...he'll take care of us" My wife is disappointed in the quality and the entire experience...Visitors too are less than impressed I have been in the military for 21 years, I too have customers. Relationships are critical to knowing what is wanted and expected on both ends I manage airfields for a living, so how I allowed the minimal detail and assumptions to go un-checked prior to execution is beyond me...fail The bottom line is that when a product changes hands both parties should feel fulfilled with a sense of satisfaction I do not feel that the quality of work matches the amount of money I paid you Also, you knew I was having some issues from previous emails...you never came by to walk around, talk or even shake my hand...but you took our money For what it's worth...these are the feelings of one of your customers "},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ga/cochran/paulk%27s-landscape-and-nursery-reviews-6069071.htm"},"position":6}]}

FAQs for plant watering projects in Milledgeville, GA
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Lawn irrigation is the process of getting water to your lawn, grass and all, for it to grow. There are five main types of lawn irrigation methods:
Manual irrigation puts you in charge of the flow of water. Using a sprinkler head on your hose is best to evenly distribute the water across your entire lawn. This doesn’t take much time but requires you to be physically outside holding the hose.
Above-ground sprinklers attach to your hose and rotate or oscillate around your lawn. Since these are above-ground, they’ll need to be moved when it’s time to mow, and depending on the size of your property, you might need to move it around your yard for full coverage.
In-ground sprinklers are flush with the ground when not in use but pop up above the ground level when it's time to water the lawn. Piping for these sprinklers is all found underground, and there are different types of sprinkler heads for different uses and lawn sizes.
Drip irrigation involves drip lines that are more efficient than sprinklers for more extensive lawns. This involves a lot of digging since they are installed underground, but it makes it easy for you to mow.
Rainwater collection and irrigation uses nature’s precipitation to water your lawn. This option might not be available in every area since semi-reliable rainfall is needed, though the barrels for this system can range from 15 gallons to 10,000 gallons or more.
The cost of a lawn sprinkler system is $2,550 for the average homeowner. However, this price can range from $350 to $5,000 or more, depending on the type of sprinkler system you install, the size of your yard, and the type of sprinkler heads you choose. For example, rotating or oscillating sprinkler heads are more expensive than stationary ones, making the cost for one sprinkler head $2.50 to $30 each. Likewise, a yard that is 1/4 of an acre in size averages a total average price of $2,460; however, a one-acre yard averages a cost of $9,840.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
