"Sgt. Stripes Asphalt did a fantastic job. I am in Kentucky and the job was in Georgia. They were very efficient, communicated with me. They did the job on the weekend so there would not be any traffic in and out of Post-Office parking lot. Their customer service and work great. I would definitely recommend them."

"If I could give more than five stars, I 100% would. My husband and I bought this house knowing we would need a lot of help in the backyard because of the trash and debris in it. Zach went above and beyond in every way. He was very informative from the get-go and was very open and honest with me about what was needing to be done. He has transformed my backyard into something that I don’t look at and cringe and hate into something that I actually want to spend time in. I can’t wait to actually be out in my yard and not see the trash and the debris and everything in my yard. When I saw my yard after Zach was done I almost cried because of how much he did for me. I cannot thank him enough. I cannot recommend him enough. If I ever have to have someone come out and do anything to my yard, tree removal or anything, Zach 100% be my first call. Thank you, Zach for everything that you and your team did and giving me my yard back."

"Had my driveway and basketball court converted from cement to asphalt. They did both in one day including demolition and paving. They treated my property with respect and caused no residual damage. Excellent communication and service throughout. I highly recommend Spalding Concrete."

The ideal distance between stepping stones depends on your design preference. A general rule is to place them about 24 inches apart from center to center to match an average person's stride. Another common approach is to leave about 6 inches of space between the edges of each stone; this can be adjusted to fit the path's total length without cutting pavers. If you plan to plant between the stones, leave at least 6 to 8 inches of space to give the plants room to grow.

The dimensions of a driveway apron vary based on local building codes, the width of your driveway, and the distance between the driveway and the road. On average, aprons range from 12 to 24 feet wide and 8 to 18 feet long. Typically, the end of the apron connected to the driveway matches its width—such as 10 to 12 feet for a single-car driveway—while the end at the street flares out to allow cars to turn in and out more easily. In some areas, you may not be responsible for the portion of the apron that extends beyond the sidewalk, but this depends on local laws.

Yes, but it's best to kill off the grass with solarization and remove the dead plant matter before laying down the pavers. This helps limit the chance of your pavers shifting as the dead plant matter decomposes.

If you're designing a new patio in an area with poor drainage, permeable pavers made from porous materials may help prevent water issues. Most permeable pavers feature a gravel-only aggregate base instead of a concrete base to allow water to flow through instead of getting trapped. While beneficial in some cases, permeable pavers come with higher initial costs and greater load-bearing limitations compared to traditional pavers.

Gravel is the cheapest way to extend a driveway. Gravel is an affordable, practical option that’s easy to install and perfect for DIY projects, helping you save on labor costs. It can be quickly spread and leveled to create extra driveway space without heavy preparation. While gravel doesn’t offer the same durability or finished look as concrete or asphalt, its low cost makes it ideal for budget-conscious homeowners who want a functional solution without overspending.
