"These guys were super responsive and spent time answering all of my questions about sealcoating my driveway. They've been in the family business for many years and they clearly take pride in their work. The spray seal they use is commercial grade and it shows. After 3 years of harsh winters, it looks fresh and new again. Thanks Peach State Paving!"

Small jobs welcome

"He is very punctual, professional, supervised his workers to ensure they did their work correctly, and has always been great to work with. We had them install asphalt paving in 2014 and then had him back periodically to seal it. We really appreciate the honesty and dedication that he has shown in working with us; working to clearly explain what the situation is, excellent communication regarding scheduling and otherwise, and doing extra work where needed to ensure our driveway stays in good condition. We have been very impressed with him and would highly recommend him."

Driveway Sealcoating questions, answered by experts

If you notice minor cosmetic problems with your driveway, you should seal it. Look out for cracks and holes on the surface, faded asphalt or concrete, and stains from oil and other chemicals. Replacing your driveway may be necessary if you’re dealing with significant problems—¼-inch cracks, large potholes, and puddles from drainage issues. The cost to install an asphalt driveway typically ranges between $4,200 and $9,000, significantly more than resealing. Consider talking to a professional to discuss whether resurfacing your driveway—a midway project between resealing and replacing—is a better option for you.

Maintaining a driveway depends on its material. For concrete and asphalt, it's best to clean the surface thoroughly twice a year with a stiff broom and a pressure washer to remove accumulated dirt and debris. Sealing the driveway is crucial to protect it from water damage and freeze-thaw cycles. Before applying a sealant, pressure wash the surface to remove any loose sealant, dirt, or stains, as sealing over them will trap them. Any cracks or expansion joints should be filled with a flexible polyurethane caulk or asphalt sealer. In colder climates, use sand instead of salt for de-icing. Sand helps melt snow and ice without accelerating the freeze-thaw process, which can cause cracks.

Yes, they fill all cracks and potholes to ensure a smooth, durable finish that protects the underlying asphalt.

It is not recommended to seal brand-new asphalt immediately. You should wait at least three months after installation to allow the asphalt time to cure properly. Applying a seal coat too soon can trap the asphalt's oils and chemicals, preventing it from fully hardening. This can result in a weaker surface that is more susceptible to damage. After the three-month curing period, sealing the asphalt is beneficial as it can extend its lifespan by protecting it from water, UV rays, and other damaging elements.

DIY asphalt repair is feasible for small issues like cracks or potholes, provided you have the correct materials and tools. However, for more extensive damage or to ensure a durable, smooth surface and prevent further deterioration, engaging professional services is recommended for their expertise and long-lasting results.
