"It went just fine. I had to call them instead of them contacting me. When I set up the appointment, he didn't come for the appointment. He finally called back a couple of weeks later and rescheduled. I talked to them about doing some other landscape work and they never returned my call again."

"Eduardo and the Mater Landscaping team safely and expertly removed several trees (including stumps) and limbs from a large oak tree that were overhanging my home. They did an outstanding job from start to finish, at an exceptionally reasonable cost. I appreciate their professionalism and highly recommend their work."

"Chris arrived promptly at the agreed upon time. My yard had been neglected for a month but he mowed and cleaned it up nicely. He is very personable and his price is fair. I will have him come regularly from now on."

"They were professional, knowledgeable, and on time. Finished the yard in one day, and cleaned up when they were finished. Love having grass in my backyard! Will use them on another project this fall to add flowers, bushes, and trees. Looking forward to using them again!"

"Custom wood painted deck and wheelchair ramp. These guys were absolutely phenomenal. I am very happy with their work and plan to use them again. They went above and beyond the scope of work they quoted me on. I'm delighted. Could not possibly recommend any more highly. They are A+++ in my book!"

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

How much 4 yards of dirt will cover depends on how deep you want the soil to be. In general, a yard of dirt will cover 324 square feet for a 1-inch depth or 100 square feet for a 3-inch depth. Therefore, you can expect 4 yards to cover between 400 and 1,296 square feet if you keep your soil depth between 1 and 3 inches.

As much as you might try to keep a healthy, nutrient-rich lawn, you still may notice signs of St. Augustine decline (SAD)—a viral disease that discolors your grass blades. St. Augustine decline looks like:

  • Discoloration in the leaves (chlorosis)—leaves appear yellow and splotchy

  • Decline in growth

  • Leaves turn black within 3 years

  • Grass appears less vibrant

  • Grass begins to thin

  • Root rot

  • Grass takes longer to recover

When planting, it's best to leave several feet between a house and a juniper bush. Many juniper varieties will become quite bushy and require space to grow. Juniper branches that come into contact with siding can damage the home's exterior over time. Also, some juniper bushes have aggressive roots that can put pressure on a home's foundation or basement walls.

While both fall and spring are suitable times of the year for planting trees, fall is typically the better option. Soil stays warm long enough to allow tree roots to establish in fall before they go dormant, while spring might give way to intense summer heat before spring-planted trees have time to grow strong roots.

Yes, many providers offer organic or eco-friendly treatments. Confirm availability with your contractor.
