"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

"Justin came out to my home to review a previously incorrect and unfinished project by another company, and also give me a quote to correct and complete the project making it up to building code. He was very thorough in his review of the project making sure to address each one of my concerns not only with what had already been done here and what it what take to fix it correctly. His explanations were clear, precise and he was very professional. Given the fact we had already paid another company to do this job which was not done correctly, up to code and not even finished he was completely willing to wait until we are able to redo this project. I will most definitely contact Justin when we are able to restart this unfinished project because I am confident that using his company will give us the result we originally wanted but did not get from the previous company."

"The electrician did good work. However, I was charged for "parts" that I had on hand- electrical tape, etc. I had purchased everything needed for an install. Advice --tell them and any other contractor to ask you FIRST before they use parts. Again the work was good."

"The quality and workmanship is beautiful. This deck will last for many years to come. There were a couple of hiccups along the way but were solved without a hitch and we have requested a new bid on another project. We will be using DC Enterprises in the future."

"Adam built my house in 2021. It is a beautiful custom 3800 sq ft. home with two fire places, chef's kitchen and a kitchenette. on 10 acres of land. Adam is a professional and has a very good eye for details even I would miss at times. His team of sub contractors were also very professional and they all went above and beyond on the job site. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Adam and I would have him build my home again if the need ever arises."

"H. I. S arrived on schedule. They were very friendly and professional. Very knowledgeable and was well prepared. Went above and beyond to complete jobs. Tested their work to make sure it was done accurately before leaving. Pricing was very fair and reasonable. Will continue to use them for any future repairs. I highly recommend them for services."

Home Building questions, answered by experts

The longest part of building a custom home is the design phase. It takes multiple professionals and a ton of work to bring your vision for your dream home to life while sticking to a homebuilding budget and also ensuring everything is built to code. Expect the design phase for a custom home build to take six months to a year.

It usually takes around four to six months to build and install a modular home, although your timeline could go up to around eight months if there are delays in the manufacturing or permitting process. Heavy site preparation and foundation pouring can extend that timeline if you need them, as can customizations you want for your modular home. Your modular home company should be able to provide an estimate for the construction timeline before you sign any contracts or agree to any work.

Typically, architects do not build homes in a hands-on sense of doing the actual framing, roofing, or other building. Architects usually do not have the training and experience to build the homes they design. An architect would need to know how to do the specific trades required to build a house, which is possible but not a common practice. A general contractor or homebuilder typically oversees the actual details of building the house that the architect designs.

Yes, you can finance cottage construction through several options. Construction loans provide funds in stages as work progresses, while home equity loans or lines of credit are available if you have existing property. Some lenders offer a combined construction and permanent mortgage. Always review loan terms and payment milestones before committing.

Hiring a reliable home builder is an essential task, but there are a few questions you can ask a potential builder to ensure you they are trustworthy and up to the task:

  • How long do you expect the process to take?

  • Are you fully licensed and insured?

  • How much of the work will you subcontract?

  • Will you pull all of the necessary permits for the job?

  • How long is the builder’s warranty you include with your work?

  • How do you handle resolution for issues I might have with the finished product?

  • How much experience do you have?
