"What an awesome experience, Seth is an incredible technician when it comes to pools. He explains everything to me about our equipment the right way not like these other companies. He did an excellent job replumbing the equipment in a safety timely manner. I would 100% recommend his work again. Thanks Seth!"

"I do not understand the negative ratings. Our experience was fantastic! Jimmy of Artizan Pools built a pool/hot tub for my daughter and her family a few years ago...excellent job! I am a Certified Residential Contractor in Florida building high-end custom homes. I was able to review the process and final project and was impressed with his quality of work compared to my regular pool subcontractors in SWFL. The best part though is his return to the project four years later when he corrected the landscape contractor's problem. He showed up on schedule to review the issues, was proactive in the suggesting a nice looking, practical solution, and returned with his crew a couple of days later to complete the project in a single day! A great job! Everyone should be so fortunate to find such a responsible contractor to help them in one of the largest projects a homeowner might take on. He's a great guy with a great crew!"

"It was great, the pool technician was very helpful and kept us updated on what repairs were needed. He followed up after his visit to ensure we knew the next steps. 10/10 would have this technician again."

Pool Construction and Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.

When planning for land survey costs, you should consider the following elements as major contributors to the overall cost:

  • Size of your property in terms of acres or square feet

  • Complexity of the terrain in terms of hills, elevation changes, rocks, water, and other features

  • Type of survey you need (boundary survey, topographic survey, or a combination of survey types)

  • Distance traveled for the professional surveyor

To hire a land surveyor, you need to start by searching online for reputable professionals in your area. Here are a few steps to take when making a shortlist:

  • Browse land surveyor service website

  • Check credentials

  • Read customer reviews

  • Find their contact information

  • Call or email to inquire about more information

  • Ask how far they travel, if you’re some distance away

  • Find out how they charge for their services

  • Ask about schedule and turnaround times

  • Repeat these steps for one to two other services and compare pricing

Above all, the downside to building a new house is a longer timeline. You need several months to finish the build, depending on the supply chain and labor availability in the meantime. Building a home compared to buying one is also more expensive, both in the building process and when it comes to mortgage rates and property taxes.

If you can’t find any records online, you’ll need to contact your county clerk’s office to do further research. They should have property records on file, or can at least point you in the right direction of who to contact. You can also speak with your neighbors about when their houses were built because they were likely built around the same time.
