Customers say: Quality work

"***** I added 5 more stars for a rating of 10! I am extremely happy and pleased that we found Phil the pool heater guy on HomeAdvisor. He was very helpful and I took his advice regarding the type and size of the heat pump unit required and we could't be more pleased. The unit was installed professionally and the old unit taken away and the the work site was left clean and neat. They even installed my LED spa and pool light and lubed the older valves to save us the additional cost of installing new ones to make sure we had worry free operation. His pricing was very competitive and much cheaper than other contractors and not looking to unnecessarily up sell you. The Thermeau unit has excellent warranty, very efficient to run and is High Quality made in North America. Heats our pool to 85 and spa to 104 with no problem. We have been using our pool and spa since the heater was installed. Definitely recommend Phil the pool heater guy for any pool service they are knowledgeable and strive to provide service compatible with your pocket book."

"I highly recommend Affordable Solar & Pool Heating, LLC. Henry was outstanding from start to finish. He was extremely knowledgeable and quickly diagnosed and fixed my pool issue. What impressed me most was that he didn't leave until everything had been thoroughly double- and triple-checked to ensure it was working properly. Henry was professional, courteous, and very clean throughout the entire service call. He also took the time to provide all the necessary warranty paperwork and explained everything clearly. It's hard to find technicians who are this dedicated to quality workmanship and customer service. I would definitely use Affordable Solar & Pool Heating again and would gladly recommend them to others."

"Once they arrived they got right on with the job of replacing the current single speed pool pump with a variable speed pump and replacing the pool light which hasn't worked in 5 years. Everything looks great."

"He was very friendly and apologetic for having to reschedule (which was not a big problem for me). He cleaned the pool and explained all about the system and what was needed (I just purchased the house and never had a saltwater pool before). Definitely recommend!"

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

You should have your spa or hot tub inspected and serviced yearly to prevent more costly repairs. Regular hot tub maintenance can save money and help keep you safe from hazards such as faulty wiring. Call a professional hot tub repair specialist, who will know what common issues to look for and have the parts and tools on hand to fix them immediately.

You should put chlorine in your hot tub on a regular basis. To keep bacteria away, keep the chlorine level in your hot tub at between 3-5 mg/l, which may mean you need to add chlorine daily or at least every two to three days. Don’t add chlorine to your hot tub water more than once per day.

Whether you can repair a hot tub depends on the severity of the problem and the location. With the right tools and knowledge, you can fix problems like small leaks or switching out a dirty filter. However, electrical and plumbing issues require a licensed professional due to the inherent risk, particularly when mixing water with electricity.

Vinegar can be used as an all-purpose cleaner for many things, including hot tub filters. Soaking hot tub filters in vinegar and water for up to 24 hours can remove dirt and oil, and as a bonus, it won’t cause the water to foam after you reinstall it if there’s vinegar left on it. But make sure you still rinse it to remove any debris, dirt, or grime stuck on it.

A compact unit designed for two to three people typically weighs approximately 500 pounds in its empty state. On the other hand, a larger hot tub meant for up to six people can weigh around 1,000 pounds when empty. Materials used also impact weight. Less expensive hot tubs are typically lighter because they are made of molded plastic or fiberglass.
