"Mike did a fantastic job, welding multiple splits and holes in my mower deck, ultimately saving me many $$ not having to replace it. He was courteous and did the job be the next day and very reasonably priced. I would use his services again in a hearbeat should I need another welding job. Thank you Mike!"

Small jobs welcome

"Everything that I did to coordinate execute Pay and accept delivery of this job order was done to perfection. Working with management at that location was absolutely fabulous considering that I had a very small job that I had to go to a major Steel worker to get repaired, they treated me like a number one customer and couldn’t do enough for me Customer satisfaction was better than any. I’ve experienced in Orlando when I received the work I found no flaws nor deviation from what I asked for and pricing for that job was more than reasonable. I highly recommend anyone needing small residential type steel work done to contact six Sigma."

"We hired Troy at Surface and Structure to do design and permitting work when we decided to do an expansion on our daycare. The city came to us with 3 major issues having to do with flood planes, surface water and existing structures. The requirements they were throwing at us would have absolutely killed our project. Troy met with the city officials and negotiated reasonable solutions to each of the problems that saved our project. All of the costly requirements were avoided and we got to do our expansion."

Wrought Iron questions, answered by experts

Proper installation can make a big difference in your fence's maintenance needs. For example, wood fences that aren't installed correctly can be more likely to rot. While it's possible to DIY a fence installation, hiring a local fence company can mean much less work for you in the long run.

A professional fence installer will make sure your fence is positioned correctly and installed in a way that ensures longevity and limited upkeep requirements.

The most durable metal for a fence is wrought iron. With proper care, a wrought iron fence can last for centuries. This means regular resealing to stave off rust and corrosion, especially in coastal climates with salty sea air. In these environments, chain link and corrugated fencing tend to stand up better to the elements with fewer maintenance needs.

A wrought iron fence is generally considered a worthwhile investment, provided the cost fits your budget and its characteristics meet your needs. While it is an expensive material, its exceptional durability and longevity mean you can save money over time by not having to replace it.

Key benefits include:

  • Durability and Security: Wrought iron is strong and provides excellent security for your home.

  • Longevity: With proper maintenance, it can last a lifetime or longer.

  • Aesthetics: It offers a classy, timeless, and elegant look that can boost your home's curb appeal and property value, especially when complementing brick or stone architecture.

However, it's important to note that wrought iron fencing does not offer much privacy. If professionally installed and maintained, it is a sound long-term investment.

The depth of the fence posts depends on the height of your fence. If you’re installing a 6-foot fence, then digging 2-foot-deep holes for the fence posts will help ensure a secure installation. However, if you’re installing an 8-foot fence, the posts will need to be deeper than 2 feet to support the structure properly. Also, consider how far apart the fence posts should be to provide adequate support.

When looking at natural wood fences, you have several options other than cedar, namely: pine and redwood. Compared to cedar, redwood fencing has a deeper, red-brown color, better durability, and a higher price tag. Pine, on the other hand, is one of the most affordable types of wood for fences, but it requires the most maintenance out of the three and has the shortest lifespan.
