"WB Junk Removal and More readily gave me an estimate and waited patiently for me to schedule them. When I said that I was ready to schedule them, they said they were available that afternoon....and just like that a bunch of junk was gone. Friendly, fast, and thorough!"

"We had a large Playhouse built on our property. It was basically a small house insulation drywall siding shingle roof windows air-conditioning. Dave Farmer showed up on time with his helper. Took them an hour and a half to completely finish the job. The work was very organized. They hauled off all the debris. I watch them do most of the demolition. I was very impressed. They are very polite and the cost was reasonable. well worth the money. They also do home improvement just about anything. Thank you, Dave for a job well done. I will definitely use them again."

"Jessica contacted me within a short time after me putting the request in. She requested information to get the scope of the job and due to the skill of herself and her team, I was able to have them handle the power disconnect and cap rather than delay the job further waiting on an electrician. She warned me that the item I was having removed may need to be cut into pieces- which it did- but they did a through job of cleaning and sweeping up the work area as well as the driveway where they loaded the truck. Excellent customer service, excellent work and clean up, and definitely would hire again."

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

Garbage disposals are durable appliances that usually last at least eight years as long as you clean and maintain them. It’s relatively rare for a garbage disposal to break on its own, as most malfunctions happen due to user errors, like overstuffing the grinding compartment or damaging the blades by trying to dispose of metal or bone. Eventually, cracks or leaks could develop in the unit, which requires a full replacement.

Most garbage disposals have a reset button that can be triggered with a tool as simple and accessible as your index finger. That said, if you need to perform a more in-depth troubleshooting step, like manually moving the arms inside the unit or rotating the impeller plate, a hex wrench is the most common tool you’ll need. Most garbage disposals come with a hex wrench.

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.

When a dishwasher discharges its wastewater, it uses a pump to quickly move a lot of water. If anything in the drain line or the garbage disposal impedes the high volume of water, it will back up into the sink through the drain or the garbage disposal. Following regular dishwasher maintenance tips like clearing clogs, keeping them cleared, and occasionally running the disposal will eliminate the problem.

These appliances do unscrew, but you need to disconnect everything properly when you replace your garbage disposal. Make sure you shut the power off to the area first and check that it’s off with a voltage detector. Disconnect the main drain line and P-trap, and then disconnect the dishwasher drain line if you have one connected. You can then unscrew your garbage disposal using a disposal wrench. Just make sure you disconnect the electrical lines before removing your appliance.
