"Exceptional! Tile had not looked that good in years. The Grout Doctor charged us a lot of money to paint grout. Billy, of Highlander, actually CLEANED the grout to look like new. He was careful, thorough, and professional. If you want your grout cleaned to like new, he is your guy!"

"I had 2 sofas and loveseats cleaned. Both look brand new and they are not saturated with water like other cleaners have left them. Also Dereck was meticulous in his work and very professional. Thank you!"

"Everything was alright. It was adequate; it was nice. The carpets are okay. It wasn't anything outstanding either way. He told me it would have been cheaper if I had gone to him directly rather than getting the big deal because I didn't have that amount of square footage to begin with. I had to pay extra for the stairs, I thought the stairs should have been included for that but they weren't. So, I wasn't crazy about the price that way. It wasn't really the type of carpet cleaning that I had wanted because he had just the machines that scrub the carpet, it doesn't suck anything out. So, that's the only thing and that's not his fault, it's just that I didn't investigated further."

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

It is generally worth repairing leather furniture rather than replacing it, as it is typically more affordable and the material tends to retain its value. A typical repair averages around $250, which is significantly less than the thousands of dollars a replacement could cost. Even a full reupholstering, which can cost up to $4,000, may still be more economical than buying new. With proper care, repaired leather furniture can last for many years, making the investment worthwhile. However, if the underlying structure or frame of the furniture is damaged or malfunctioning, replacement might be a better option. The quality of the leather and the furniture piece are also important factors. For a definitive answer, it is best to consult a leather repair professional to assess your specific situation.

The average cost to reupholster a piece of furniture is around $720, with most projects falling in the $380 to $1,150 range. The final price can vary significantly based on several factors. These include the size and complexity of the furniture, the cost of the new fabric (which typically ranges from $50 to $70 per yard), and hourly labor rates (often $40 to $100 per hour). Additional factors that influence the price are the piece's current condition, its age, whether it needs other repairs, the number of pieces being reupholstered, and your geographic location.

Regular vacuuming, spot cleaning, and protecting surfaces from sun exposure prevents wear and fading, preserving longevity.

Although it’s not standard, many upholstery professionals offer warranties on their workmanship, typically ranging from six months to several years. However, most warranties don't cover normal wear and tear, damage from spills and other accidents, or problems with the original furniture frame. Before starting your project, be sure to ask about warranty terms, what is covered, and any exclusions.

You can make your dining room look more expensive using one or more of several methods. If you're remodeling, you can consider raising the ceiling height, installing an elegant chandelier, or redoing the floor. For smaller renovations, consider changing the paint color to a deep and rich tone, such as burgundy or emerald. You can also swap out the table and chairs to achieve a richer appearance.
