The owners are a married couple who prefer their own convenience to quality of service for their customers. The owners and employees at this business have acted unprofessionally, dishonestly and unethically while we were customers. They repeatedly melted buttons on my shirts, and rather than tell me about it, replaced it with similar looking ones hoping I wouldn't notice. They have stained our clothing, placed permanent tags (after being instructed not to) with our name and cell phone number in conspicuous places, and drained color from brand new clothing the first time they had it in their possession. They also charged us for dry cleaning when it seems all they did was launder our clothing. Yesterday, my wife when to pick up clothing. They did not have all of our clothes ready for us as agreed, and there was damage to the few items they did have. When my wife nicely complained the employees were rude to her while she was with our 19 month old. When I called the location to advise them I was going to pick up the rest of our clothing and take our business elsewhere, they told me that they would have no way to find my clothes and that I cannot pick it up. It was absurd. I went to the store and asked for my clothing. I was told by the woman at the register that the owner told her I cannot have my clothing and she would call me. I ended up speaking to the owner on the phone while I was there and said that I had to have my clothing back that day. I was leaving for a business trip, which they knew. After multiple failed attempts to blame us for the damage to the clothing and manipulate the situation, she conceded and told me that her husband was available to come meet me so I waited. Her husband showed up with an attitude, asked who needed help and when I told him that they ruined my clothing and I wanted the rest of it back, his response was "Why don't you go f*** yourself.." He then started throwing some of my shirts at me and repeatedly used profanity. The guy then followed me outside and continued making threats. The husband looks like he is pushing 60, and in good conscious, I could not hit a man that age regardless of his assault. I called the police, who responded and told the guys he had to give me all of my clothing back. The owner also out right lied about the events that took place. I asked the police to see if there were cameras in the store because I had nothing to hide. There are, but the owner old them that they were "not functioning." Even the police thought that was "convenient." I was also told that this place does the police uniforms and damages those too, however, the Town of Ridgefield has to use them due to municipal purchasing laws since they are the lowest bidder. Ironically, I was also told that the owners' son is in the police academy and the owners are upset that he doesn't want the "family business." Smart move! Steer clear of this place like it is the plague and take your business elsewhere!
Description of Work: This provider ruined a dozen of my shirts that range in value of $180-$350 each. When I complained the one owner threw some of my clothing at me, refused to return my other clothing, used profanity and made physical threats. I had to call the police who instructed the owner to return all of my clothing to me immediately.

We are deeply disappointed that one individual could fabricate such a defamatory story about our dry cleaners and our family. We have been a member of the Ridgefield community since 1982 and we pride ourselves on customer service, giving back, going above and beyond. If an issue does arise, we take every measure to ameliorate the situation and do everything in our control to make the customer happy. [Member Name Removed]’s story lacks any basis of truth and directly attacks the positive reputation we have built over the past 33 years. His personal insults about our family and employees are inappropriate and hurtful. To be clear, this individual did use our services in April, 2014. On the day in question, [Member Name Removed]’s behavior in our store was irrational and uncontrollable. Upon his arrival, our employees felt threatened and immediately called us. When my husband arrived at the cleaners, he tried to have a civil conversation, but [Member Name Removed] refused to calm down. Not knowing what he would do in that state of mind, our number one priority at that point was to protect our staff and other customers in the store. In response to our asking him several times to leave the premises, [Member Name Removed] screamed “You’re f-ing dead”. At this point, it was my husband that immediately called the police. To this day, I do not understand what made [Member Name Removed] so angry. The name inside the shirt was a heat seal label I am not familiar with. It's a label we do not use nor have we ever used. It was put on the shirt at another dry cleaners. As for his other false complaints, I can't even address them because they never happened and are untrue. For whatever it may be worth, not long after this incident, [Member Name Removed] had a very similar run-in at another dry cleaners in town, with the police again coming to escort him off the premises. Our goal is to provide exceptional service to our customers, but we cannot allow unsafe, irrational behavior to threaten our staff and other customers. We are proud of our business and contributions to the community and will continue to listen to our customers and always try to improve, but there is no place for harassment and intimidation at our establishment. For this reason, we insist that [Member Name Removed] take his business elsewhere.

Dropped off the cleaning on a Friday, picked up the following Friday. Staff was courteous and helpful. The clothes came back clean and in fine condition.

I go to this dry cleaner every week. The family who owns it is very community oriented. They are customer friendly and do very good work. I'm sure their price is competitive but I haven't used anyone else in a very long time to know. I will continue to use them in the future.
