"I can't say enough positive things about the service Paul provided. He was the first one to respond to my request and was accommodating in scheduling a date and time to take care of the problem. He contacted me prior to the scheduled time to let me know he had an emergency call and would be late and said he would contact me when he was on his way. He did and arrived within an hour of the scheduled time. Great communication. Once on sight, he put drop cloths down to cover my wood floors, inspected the area and determined where the clog was. All toll, he was here for about an hour and my waste water is now flowing out to the sewer as it is supposed to. When the job was done the area was left clean. Paul and his apprentice were very friendly and pleasant to deal with. Paul did what he was hired to do, which he did very well, and his costs didn't break the bank. I won't hesitate to call them again should the need arise. I would highly recommend Ace Electric Sewer Service if you should have a similar problem. A++++++++"

"Jonathan was a lifesaver. The well circuit breaker had flipped earlier that morning. I called plumber because there was no water. The series of evenst that followed were horriffic. Plumber had flipped the well switch back, turned on the water and left. Neighbors called to tell me te basement windows were pumping out smoke. The fire deprtment came and shut everything down. I contacted Johnathan as a well specialist. That he is. He troublshooted the problem. The well switched tripped. The pump was burned out, fire, pressure valve and fittings melted. He replaced the hot water heater, all fittings and new pressure pump installed. I give Jonathan R. Habacker Pumbing, LLC the highest ratings possible. He also pointed out other future issues. I will be having him install new hot water heater, well serviced and/or replacement. HE is my only contact for well and plumbing issues. Make him yours. With much respect for quality work. Carol A. "True Professionalism and Determination!! My local plumber did not feel he had proper equipment to snake the main septic line from house. Worried about baffles. Diagnosed the problem as a â soft blockageâ in the main septic line between house and tank. This was the cause of the washing machine stand pipe overflowing with water during drain cycle Septic company recommended Ace Electric Sewer. Paul came out with an assistant and dug up the septic cover to try to snake the blockage with a special blade on the end of the snake. That got some movement of water but not enough Water blasted the line from basement side clean out port which sits above the sump pump hole. That finished the job and water was flowing again. Considered a â sludge blockageâ which was probably due to age of house. Never had seen this type of service performed before, but it was truly needed at the end of June 2023 Not the easiest project, fair price, will definitely hire again if needed"

"The initial company that I called gave me a quote of $22,000 to replace cast iron piping under my home and in my front yard. My son was familiar with the work of another company, All Things Sewer and Drain, gave them a call and sent them the video taken of the underground piping. All Things, Sewer and Drain came out in the early evening to help me find a solution to this problem They worked until 1:30 AM scaling the interior of the cast-iron pipe and flushing out debris. They even found a large metal piece and worked diligently to flush it out. This company worked so hard to correct the problem and saved me close to $20,000. I highly recommend this company to anyone in need of sewer or drain care. Note: The next day I found out that my insurance company would not have covered any of the cost. I would have had to pay out of pocket $22,000. I am so very grateful to my son for calling All Things Sewer and Drain, to find an economical solution to the problem that came upon us in a single weekend."

Sewer Cleaning FAQs, answered by experts

Your sewer line can get grimy quickly. To prevent sludge buildup in your sewer line, pour a mixture of 1/3 cup of vinegar and 1/3 cup of baking soda down each drain in your home once a month. After about 30 minutes, flush the drain with hot water.

Some plumbers recommend 3/4 cup of bleach instead to clean any germs and bacteria that may build up in your sewer line. But this won’t break down any active clogs, and it cannot be combined with vinegar, as the mixture will create a toxic, hazardous gas.

Knowing the signs can alert you to a clogged drain line. Clogs cause slow drainage or cause no drainage (if there’s a complete blockage). You may also notice foul odors, gurgling noises, water backing up in other appliances on the same line, or a poorly flushing toilet. If you experience any of these issues and think your line might be clogged, call a plumber.

Grease buildup, tree roots, and foreign objects often cause blockages. Regular maintenance prevents major issues.

If methods like hot water or a plunger don’t work on your clogged drain, you can snake your drain to dislodge the plug. This can be a messy process, taking some physical effort and additional time over the other drain-clearing options. You can purchase a drain snake at a hardware store and choose from handheld options or those attached to a drill. Just work slowly, and be ready to call a plumber if you’re unable to reach the clog from your drain or P-trap.

Your home has a few telltale signs of a sewer line problem. If you notice multiple plumbing fixtures (toilet, sink, or shower drains) appear to be clogged, call a plumber ASAP. Also, if water appears in the tub or shower when you flush the toilet, you likely have a sewer line issue. A sulfur (rotten eggs) smell and bubbling or gurgling noises at the drain also warrant a check. And keep your eyes peeled for changes to the yard, such as a new indentation or mysteriously soggy grass.
