Again I did not receive the service I had sought. And, I felt like it was an ambush for which I was unprepared. I want to add that the assistant was nice, polite, knowledgable and professional. I wish I could have dealt with him
Description of Work: I first contacted them to sell furniture from my Dad's estate. It seemed to be the place to go. They said they were interested. When they arrived they changed their story and started "picking" through the entire house, garage, and attic (with my permission). I had not anticipated this. I was just beginning to be able to sort through my Dad's things. They went very fast and I feel were very insensitive. They made notes as they went along as to prices. Some things they grouped together for one price. Then they showed me the bids and they were low. We saw some of our items for sale in the store and they were priced at least twice what I had received. I've gotten about 66% from other transactions. I do not think the owner is totally honest. He bought a group of items, that was placed on top of items that they knew I was keeping (keep in mind we had not agreed ahead of time, for me to have things organized). After they left, I noticed everything missing. I did get my stuff back, but the owner said he thought it was in the "group" of things I agreed to. Nonsense, they were not listed on his bid. I was disappointed, because they owner seemed polite and professional when I first contacted him. His assistant was more professional in manner, but totally catered to his boss.

Totally Dissatisfied with this company & sale conducted. Will not shop at their store...overpriced & not willing to work with customers. Would NOT recommend this company to anyone!!! 1. In person, told cost would be 35% of total sale. On contract, they changed to 38%. 2. Did NOT provide enough help to get sale set up & conducted correctly. 3. Late to 1st day of sale. It was Kaos! Didn't have enough help to run sale in a professional manner. 4. NO Accountability of $$. Ran sale as a RUMMAGE sale rather than an Estate Sale. *Contract stated that: "Records & Receipts: Records regarding the proceeds of sale will be open to you at all times during and after the sale." Asked for proceeds on 1st day & was told I'd see it on Monday. *There was no recording keeping as to what item sold for what $$$. Money was put in pocket & no recording keeping. How do I know how much I made per day??? I didn't know this company except that I had shopped at the store a couple times. I was just supposed to trust that he was honest!!!! I didn't know him personally to trust. Felt ripped off & cheated. * My experience with Estate Sales is that there is a person keeping track...on paper...of what sold & the price. Didn't happen here, even though it stated on the contract that records would be kept. 5. Prices of Items: Did NOT know value of expensive items...even with an appraisal in hand. Gave away items!! Had friends & dealers come to sale 1st day & gave lower prices on 1st day of sale. No chance of making the most money possible. I had to pull items from the sale due to $$$$'s. Was told I couldn't do that. I had to let him give away items. Did not say in contract that I couldn't pull items. Made up rules as they went. UNPROFESSIONAL! Several expensive items disappeared prior to sale. They couldn't tell me where they went or how much they sold for! Again, NO RECORD KEEPING. 6. Did NOT want me at sale & told me at beginning of 2nd day of sale. He yelled at ME over a customer who was out of control that I had asked to leave my property. Told me he was the BOSS & in charge! Unprofessional! He was NOT willing to take responsibility for any mishaps during sale. *Big RISK for homeowner should someone get hurt during sale & homeowner not present! *Complained to me that they had to take down take apart items during sale. Their responsibility since they are running sale & didn't want me there to help. NO ENOUGH HELP!!! 7. Items SOLD prior to Sale: I had several friends that came to my home to view items for sale PRIOR to sale starting. I sold them before the sale started. They wanted their 40% of sales Prior to estate sale started. They didn't sell it, I did... Why should they get any money for items I sold??? UNPROFESSIONAL & DISHONEST! 8. After The Sale: *Left home in big mess for me to clean up! *Met with them on Monday after sale: Given a letter of what I had done wrong. * No one there to help with large items. Their responsibility! NOT enough help!! * Complained no AC in house. I will not pay for AC when all the doors and window in the house were open. Took no responsibility for how sale was conducted. *They picked up large items on Tuesday after sale....again, no record keeping, so I how did I know they really sold, or if the items were going to his store???? * Still NO RECORD of items & prices sold...just a total $ minus his 38% & fees + complaints about me. 9. The ONLY positive: Advertising- Very good. Lots of people I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! BEWARE!! YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF TOO!!
