"Luis and his team were great! He responded to my inquiry the same day, had a fair quote that evening and started the next day. Their work was thorough and conscientious. This is family business and each member is polite and very easy to be around. At all times, Luis’s team we’re tidy and respectful. When they were finished, everything was cleaned up extremely well. The quality of the work was very thorough and we are very happy with the outcome. Luis was not satisfied with one wall is returning to add a third coat at no extra charge. He is not just a perfectionist but was also very helpful and deciding on color. Great job! and lovely folks I would highly recommend Pro painting"

"Emilio and his team did a fantastic job scraping out popcorn ceilings, retexturing them, and painting them all throughout the house and garage. When the paint started to crack in a couple places, he immediately came back and refinished the area until it was perfect. Emilio is also very responsive via text and takes pride in his work. We would highly recommend Drywall 614 for any project"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Staining or sealing a cedar deck or fence is highly recommended to extend its lifespan and protect it from the elements. While cedar is naturally resistant to mold and mildew, it is not impervious to damage from moisture, sun exposure, splintering, fading, and rot over time. Applying a protective finish creates a shield that preserves the wood's strength and appearance, potentially extending its life by five to 10 years.

When choosing a finish, it's helpful to understand the difference between a sealer and a stain. A sealer sits on top of the wood, whereas a combination stain and sealer soaks into the top layer. Because it penetrates the wood, a stain generally offers better protection against UV damage and rot and lasts significantly longer. For the best results that also preserve the wood's natural color, consider using a near-translucent stain.

To maintain protection, plan on reapplying the stain or sealer every two to three years, either as a DIY project or by hiring a professional.

Deck staining or painting safeguards wood against the elements through its protective layer, enhancing decay resistance, prolonging structural integrity, and improving visual appeal.

Exterior paints contain more volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, making them dangerous when used indoors. Without the free ventilation of the great outdoors, it can take longer for the fumes to dissipate than interior paint. While you may notice the smell lessening more quickly, you should be wary of paint fumes inside for 48 to 72 hours after it dries.

Ideally, it's best to stain your dock once per year. Applying stain doesn't just keep it looking nice and new; it also helps extend the dock’s lifespan. Since you want to ensure water levels are at their lowest, it's best to have this project done by a professional dock repair service in the cooler autumn or early winter months.

You’ll want to avoid excessively hot or humid conditions, so it’s best to apply your stain in late spring to early fall. It's also important to watch the weather forecast and aim for days when there isn’t rain expected for at least three days. For new decks, allow the wood to season beforehand for at least four to eight weeks.
