"Went well to this point of replacing parts. Then the United needed to have a system leak test and then needed freon put in pump. This was refused by Choice warranty. We were left with a partial repair and a heat pump not able to do it's job."

"Went well as could be expected, needed a part and ordered, when part came in found out we needed another part which delayed fixing our heat for almost a week in total, but having a carrier unit and not having parts in town is what made it difficult, not A+ plumbing and heating. I will be hiring for all future plumbing and heating work!"

Wells and Pumps questions, answered by experts

Every 1-2 years to ensure optimal performance and prolong lifespan.

Yes, you can oversize a well pressure tank without harming your well system, as there are no major risks involved. The primary advantage of a larger tank is an increased lifespan due to less frequent pump cycling. Fewer startups and longer, slower runtimes mean less wear and tear on the system and can help conserve energy. The main drawbacks are the higher upfront cost and the larger amount of space required for an oversized tank. While not necessarily a bad thing, it is often more efficient to select an appropriately sized tank to save money and space.

Repairs typically take 2-4 hours. Complex issues may require additional time.

No. Well pump replacement is not recommended as a DIY project, particularly if you have a deep well and a submersible pump. Plumbing and electricity are best left to the pros, especially when something like your well pump includes both. Even when troubleshooting your pump, it pays to have a partner standing by for your assistance and safety.

Yes, a bigger well pump can increase water pressure—up to a point. If you currently have a well pump of 8 GPM, you might notice a pressure boost when you go up to 10 GPM. However, overshooting significantly (going up to 15 GPM for an 8 GPM home) can strain your well system and result in things like burst pipes that can decrease your water pressure and make for costly repairs.
