"The project started well, but on the final day, the contractors unexpectedly claimed they made a mistake and demanded an additional $8000, threatening legal action if not paid. I verified Colorado law, which states they had six months to place a lien on our property, requiring notification within three days of doing so, and by registered mail after the lien was placed. We took no action, avoiding reviews or contact. They have since blocked us from their website and emails. Ultimately, they never placed a lien, and the six-month period has passed. Now that everything is resolved, I want to leave a review. While I am satisfied with the project's outcome, I am unhappy with their conduct, including the legal threats and the last-minute demand for more money. His wife, not him, conducted the final walkthrough and provided the warranty and a statement confirming full payment. He even verbally admitted to putting our project on the "back burner" when I questioned the delay."

"I was on the market for a security system and this one seemed easy enough to install.......went through the process and some of the window sensors were not working. I called Customer Support who was very friendly and we went through the entire process again...this time other window sensors did not work. This went on for a week or so...then the door senors stopped working....than the motion sensor stopped working...at no time in over a month did I have a fully operational security system. As I was about to return the system I was told they have "new" sensors and they just realized they received a bad batch and are working with another company.....Gave it a try....and same issue returned....some sensors worked....some didn't. I finally returned the system and stopped getting emails.....only to find that they were still billing my credit card even after I returned the equipment. Very nice people and very understanding.....unfortunately their product is not up to par. While we do have a large home, it's an open concept and the sensors that weren't working were no more than 15ft away from the base. The previous owners of my house had a wireless system with no issues at all.....I'm going to be using that company going forward."

If your window film doesn’t come with an installation kit and its own application solution, you can make your own—but don’t use soap! Instead, use 1 teaspoon of baby shampoo mixed with a gallon of bottled water. Make sure the bucket in which you mix this solution is completely clean.

Use a combination of blackout methods to truly black out your windows. If you want to eliminate all light from your room, try installing a very dark tinted film and then putting up blackout shades over the entire window. Applying window security film yourself is possible, but we don’t recommend it. This task is simple in theory, but getting the product to sit on your windows evenly and without bubbles underneath is challenging for DIYers who lack the necessary experience and tools. You might save money on labor by applying it yourself, but you might also end up with a film that doesn’t look appealing, prompting you to start over and spend the money on a professional installation anyway. Plus, most window film manufacturers will void your warranty if you install the product yourself.

One drawback is that window film can reduce the amount of natural light entering a room, particularly if you opt for a darker or more opaque film. Additionally, if not installed properly, window film may develop air bubbles or wrinkles, affecting its appearance. Over time, certain types of window film may also experience discoloration or peeling. Moreover, certain window films can interfere with wireless signals, such as Wi-Fi or cellular reception. Careful consideration of these potential drawbacks is essential when deciding whether window film is the right choice for your home.
