"On August 19, it was a pleasure working with Black Top Plus. Jr. provided the quote within 24 hours, and the crew showed up as scheduled. They repaired our shared private road and driveways with recycled asphalt. Bill also checked in on-site. The quality of their work and customer service was excellent. Their pricing and communication were very good. A big thank you to everyone at the Black Top Plus team.""

JJ&E Construction is a full service general home construction and remodeling service that started in King of Prussia, PA. But now we are in Colorado. We are owner operated and focused on providing quality to each and every one of our customers. We are open for scheduling now and would like to come take a look at your home! Please give us a call or click for an estimate today!

"I hired this company to build a new deck in the beginning of July. It is now the middle of September and my deck is still not finished. While the time frame is not completely their fault due to material delivery they wouldn’t show up for days at a time when material was available to work with. There were times they would show up and only stay for a couple hours. The whole process was a nightmare. Their lack of quality shows in all areas of the deck. I drafted the plans myself and they were approved by the building department. I provided them with copies of the plans. They messed up 4 of the 5 concrete piers because they measured them wrong. Instead of redoing them. They poured square pads over them that were only poured on the surface for three of them. One of the outside piers was supposed to be 10 inches. They messed up the measurement then poured a 16 inch pier over it that is approximately 1.5 ft above ground. They also cut a sprinkler line that went through the pier instead of pouring over it like I explained to them. I had to replace one piece of siding that met with the deck. I bought matching siding to replace it. The workers broke the siding while moving it. They bought new siding that was cheaper and did not match the existing siding. They additional broke off another small piece of siding that was not fixed. They left material all throughout my yard for weeks, leading to my grass dying and my sprinklers unable to work because they were covered up. Nails and screws were everywhere until I picked them up. The posts were cut short for the railing, so they nailed pieces of extensions on top of the posts. They messed up fastener spots for the rails leaving holes in the railing. They originally used screws for the framing. They had to be replaced with nails even telling them before they started nails had to be used and it was in the plans from the building department as well. They used facia board for the steps until I explained to them what the facia boards were for. Leading me to be short on facia boards for the rest of the deck. They also started the deck flooring using a facia board, realized the mistake and replaced. But at that point the facia board could not be used elsewhere as it was notched for posts. I bought flashing for the ledger that was never used. When I questioned them about it he stated the siding and ledger were already put on. The quality of work was below average at best. They cut corners and I found it very concerning I had to explain to them parts of building a deck."

We're dedicated to providing our clients with the very best in concrete installation and repair for driveways, sidewalks, patios, steps, and a variety of other projects. We take an enormous amount of pride in the attention to detail put into each of the projects we're involved with. We're known for our quality work and the integrity of our business. We look forward to building long-term relationships with our clients, and guarantee your satisfaction.

"Jorge and Carlos were both wonderful to work with — very professional, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented. Communication was excellent from start to finish. Jorge kept us updated throughout the process with regular progress reports, which was especially appreciated given the size of the project. They handled the tear-out and replacement of a 4,000-square-foot driveway and a small patio, both of which were slightly expanded in size. Their design input and suggestions truly improved the final layout and function of the space. The finished product looks fantastic — clean, well-graded, and beautifully done. We’re already in discussions with them for a second project: the tear-out and replacement of a large concrete patio. We highly recommend Jorge, Carlos, and their team for any concrete work — they deliver top-quality results and are a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend them! "

Driveway Sealcoating questions, answered by experts

If you don’t want to seal the entire driveway using a squeegee, you can use a roller instead. Rolling the driveway sealer also provides an even, sufficient coating, although it might require more skills to control the speed and pressure. We don’t recommend spraying the driveway sealer because it would cause more splash, hence wasting more material. If anything, you may spray the sealant and go over the surface again with a squeegee to ensure proper coating.

Cracks, potholes, fading, and uneven surfaces often require repair to maintain safety and aesthetics.

The cost of asphalt driveway repair is usually similar to the cost of average concrete driveway repairs, but maintaining asphalt tends to be less expensive on a per-instance basis. For example, resurfacing asphalt costs about $1 less per square foot, but it doesn’t last as long as concrete and will need more frequent repairs. An asphalt driveway lasts 20 to 25 years, but a well-maintained concrete driveway can last twice as long, so the maintenance costs and timeline even out.

No. You cannot use asphalt products on concrete driveways. To seal a concrete driveway, use acrylic, epoxy, polyurethane, silane, siloxane, and silicate sealers or deep penetration sealers made specifically for concrete. Meanwhile, asphalt sealers contain refined coal tar (asphalt emulsion), water, sand, clay, polymers, and additives and are incompatible with concrete’s surface texture and higher density.

Professionals provide high-quality sealants and applications, extending pavement life and enhancing appearance.
