Hi there, I am a native Coloradan, I have done cleaning off and on for most of my adult life. I take pride in all my work and feel like integrity is of the utmost importance.
*** I have recently added the Nashville area to my service coverage. Since I can do most of my services remotely with you over the phone, I am hoping to eventually open up to larger markets and help people from having to take their computer in to get it fixed, if it has internet access, I can usually fix it over the Internet. Just trying to do more to help my Angies List customers!!******** I am a sole proprietor that works out of my home. I am my only employee, but I have over 20 years experience fixing computers, and providing superior customer service. I work on a flat rate service, and don't charge by the hour because I feel it's important to educate the customer on what the issue is/was, and how to avoid it in the future. I feel that local service companies (my competition) have been overcharging customers for years. I offer a first time customer discount of 10% but I will offer 15% off for first time customers referred by Angies List. I've lived in the Huntsville area most all my life, so I know the area very well. I will never use a subcontractor as I am very picky about making sure that if my name and company is associated with something, it will be the best experience my customer has ever had, and using sub contractors won't ensure that, so I prefer to do all the work myself. Lastly, I should point out that I am a former offensive lineman for the University of Southern Mississippi and was Brett Favre's center his freshman year at Southern. I went on to play for Tom Landry in his last year, but gave up pro football early on to pursue my passion of fixing computers. If I didn't have bills to pay, I would do this for free because I love it! If you have a computer problem, I promise you that you couldn't find a better technician that will care about you as a customer, and not about the bottom line. I am always available, but don't always answer my phone, but if you leave a message, I promise to back with you as soon as possible...and figure out how to get your issue resolved in a quick, efficient and economical manner. Thanks so much for reading my ad, and I look forward to working for you!

"American Home Shield does not do repair work; they subcontract it. If replacement of anything more than very minor parts is required the subcontractor must obtain their approval and usually order parts from an approved supplier. This can cause some repairs to take several days. In this case the HVAC subcontractor was superb. He quickly inspected the entire furnace and identified and explained the cause of the problem. Since there were no major parts requiring replacement he quickly completed the repair and no further problems have been noted. "

"Bill is a nice guy, very fun to talk to, very upbeat. I had considered making him my go-to electrician, since I have some future wiring needs to finish out a basement. However, after he left, I noticed my whole-house humidifer was no longer working like it had been prior to the new furnace installation (ie only coming on when the furnace runs). To his credit, Bill came back and checked it out and together we determined he needed to install a relay to put everything back in order. He told me twice he'd "get to it tomorrow" only to drop the ball and not return my calls. I'm generally pretty forgiving and gave him the benefit of the doubt on multiple occasions, but anyone that I need to continually chase down and pester is probably not an appropriate choice for a regular "go-to" electrician. I hesitated to write this review, hoping he'd get back to me, but it's been over a month, and I'm still without my humdifier at the time of year when I need it most. The furnace is working great, but alas, no humidity. Hopefully Bill, you'll read this and come install my relay to get my system back to what it was. I'd be willing to remove this review if we can get that accomplished. Many thanks.
Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts
A common HVAC rule is that for every 500 to 600 square feet of living space, you need 1 ton of heating or cooling capacity. Now that you know this common rule, you also need to know that it isn’t very accurate, and a dedicated pro wouldn’t use it for your home. If you talk to a pro who won’t or can’t perform a proper Manual J calculation, consider hiring someone more thorough.
Yes, mini-split systems are generally less expensive to run than central air conditioners and are significantly more energy-efficient. Because mini-splits do not rely on ductwork, they avoid the energy loss associated with ducted systems, allowing cooled or heated air to reach its destination more efficiently. Additionally, they offer zoned control, meaning you can run units in individual rooms and turn them off in unoccupied areas. This capability can lead to energy savings of about 30% compared to a central air system, resulting in a lower monthly energy bill.
The cost to replace an AC evaporator coil is typically between $600 and $2,500, with an average cost around $1,300 to $1,350. The price of the coil itself can range from $550 to $1,100, depending on the brand, size, and style, with professional labor adding around $700. Replacing a condenser coil is generally less expensive, costing about $800. Because this repair involves handling refrigerants, it requires a licensed AC professional. Regular inspections, which cost between $200 and $600, can help prevent costly coil replacements.
Professional HVAC installation requires licensed expertise in several areas, including electrical- and plumbing-related work. An HVAC team must know how to safely handle regulated refrigerant chemicals and the gas, oil, or propane used in furnaces and boilers. A proper HVAC installation protects your home from energy loss, fires, and even carbon monoxide leaks.
An HVAC unit, like a furnace, air conditioner, or heat pump, produces warm or hot air. The air ducts serve as the passages to help heat or cool air from the HVAC unit flow through the home. Air ducts are just one part of the overall HVAC system.
