"The gentlemen were courteous, well-spoken, efficient and thoughtful. They made quick work of loading the pile of stuff I had collected together and the rather heavy railroad ties from the other side of the yard.  They even asked if they should take a couple of pieces I had neglected to mention.  Then, before leaving, they took a broom to the area.  Less than an hour later, I received a call from their boss to tell me that his fellows had mistakenly charged me $30.00 too much and that the check I had written for that amount would be voided.  I was quite impressed with this company and its employees.  I would certainly recommend Junk King to anyone needing their services.

Thank you for looking me up!\n\nLicensed and insured\n\nI run a junk removal and demolition service. \nYou point to what needs to disappear and I take it away. I prefer to recycle first, donate second, and dispose what is left over. Hiring me is quick and it saves you time, effort, truck rental, and back pain. Best of all, you help me support my 4 beautiful kids!\n\nMy 16' x 8' box truck with oversized lift will get the job done. \nIn quoting a price I take into consideration fuel, weight for disposal fees, and amount of labor required. \nA typical pickup truck bed is 6' x 8.' Each of these filled up is usually $150 for the first load full and each one after is reduced in price. Landfills charge by the pound so this is the primary consideration quoting your removal. \nSome variables change the price. Televisions, for instance, cannot be thrown in the trash and I am required to pay an extra fee to dispose of them. Appliances, however, are usually recycled so your quote would be less than had it been figured by volume or weight. \nMy prices are very reasonable considering all expenses. Low offers from craigslist and other platforms most likely occur due to illegal dumping and business models with no long term plan. \nStructure removal and demolition has a wide price range based on materials used to build it and size. Send a picture for a fast quote. \n\nAs far as scheduling is concerned I enjoy working early and late both, so we can complete your job soon after reaching out to me. \n\nThe best way to proceed with a quote and quick service is to send pictures here or to 719-321-6676. \nI hope to work with you soon!

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

Soil is just one of the items you shouldn't put down a garbage disposal. Garbage disposals are only meant for soft, non-fibrous foods. Large amounts of topsoil, dirt, or rocks will damage the blades of your garbage disposal or clog the pipes. If a small amount of dirt goes down the drain as you repot a plant, you shouldn't have to worry, but never dump a whole pot of soil in the sink for fast disposal.

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.

While the drain connection for a garbage disposal is nearly universal and fits standard sink drain holes of 3 1/2 to 4 inches, the size of the disposal unit itself is not. You must have enough space in the cabinet underneath your sink to accommodate the disposal's housing. A larger model may not fit in a compact cabinet or if the existing plumbing is arranged in an unusual way. Before buying a new garbage disposal, measure the available space under your sink. If you are replacing an old unit, it's often easiest to choose a new model of a similar size.

Continuous feed garbage disposals are the favorite model for many homeowners for a reason. As opposed to batch feed models, add food scraps to the drain whenever the disposal is running. This variety is also typically less expensive, more convenient, and easier to clean.

On average, it takes one to four hours for a professional to install a garbage disposal. This includes removing the old unit, taking necessary measurements for positioning, removing and fitting new pipes, and installing the brand-new disposal system. If there are unforeseen issues, such as accessibility concerns, the process takes longer.
