While a pressure washer is certainly powerful enough to remove old and peeling paint, this is not a great idea to do yourself. The pressure washer is so powerful that you could actually damage the walls as you strip away the paint. It’s best to leave paint stripping to the pros. 

It’s always best to check the manufacturer’s instructions for your pressure washer to see what detergents they recommend. If you’re caught short and looking for an at-home solution, you could try using trusty dish soap to help keep your siding sparkling. However, always use a dilute solution, as concentrated dish soap can clog the machine. One tablespoon of dish soap per 1.5 quarts of water is a good place to start.

If pressure washers are stored in freezing conditions and aren’t pretreated for such temps, any liquid remaining in the water pump may freeze, expand, and severely damage your machine. While often recommended, emptying the machine with compressed air is a long and tedious process and still may not completely drain the liquid in this pressure washer part. But adding a bit of antifreeze instead will keep it in tip-top shape without the extra effort.

Your deck may look or feel fuzzy after pressure washing because the high-pressure spray tears some wood fibers as it removes the outer layer of dead and discolored wood. This fuzzy effect is a normal part of the pressure-washing process and will go away on its own in a few weeks. You can opt to spot-sand your deck if you’d like to remove it more quickly.

Limescale can build up outside your dishwasher if you live in a home with hard tap water. Any household surface exposed to water and heat may have unsightly limescale deposits, including kettles for boiling water, sinks, countertops, toilets, taps, tubs, shower doors, glassware, and aquariums. Glass, laminate, porcelain, granite, and other similar surfaces can all have limescale.
