Small jobs welcome

"Dennis was great. He came over to look at the job (deck repair) the day after I first contacted him for an estimate. He was punctual, took pictures to try to match the original compostite wood board that needed replacement and gave me an outline of what he proposed to resolve my problem. and what I thought was a fair estimate for the work to be done. He sent me pictures of the materials he found and I chose the best option. He was punctual this morning to start the project, and after seeing a couple of other things that needed attention once and weren't visible until he started removing the original boards, he made a visit to Home Depot and finished the project. He was great at communicating with me from beginning to end and my deck looks great and feels solid again. I will be hiring him again for sure."

"Michael Ridgeway was wonderful to work with because he listened to how I wanted the gate to be finished so it would be structurally strong. I would hire him again without any question. Michaels helper that worked along with him worked very hard. I really appreciate their work ethics. Thank you so much Michael and Tommy! Sherie"

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

No, stock tank pools do not get too hot, even when they are set up in a sunny location. Many stock pools are made with galvanized steel and are designed not to get too hot to touch. When your pool is full of water, it is less likely to get hot. The water might be warmer than it would be in an above-ground pool, but it will not be uncomfortable.

If you have kids and want to be extra cautious about the temperature of the stock tank, you may want to set up an umbrella for shade over the pool area.

Yes, adding a pool to your property will almost always increase your homeowners insurance premiums. This is because pools are considered hazardous, which increases your home's liability risk. The replacement cost of the pool itself is also factored into your home's rebuilding cost when determining coverage limits. The amount of the increase can vary from as little as $50 to several hundred dollars more per year, depending on your insurance company, location, current coverage, and installed safety features. It is best to contact your insurance agent before installing a pool to get an estimate, understand their specific guidelines, and factor the ongoing cost into your budget.

Yes, you can use chlorine tablets in a salt water pool. It is not the standard recommended practice, but if your pool needs more chlorine, adding tablets can help temporarily fix the problem. Only add as many tablets as needed to keep your chlorine level around three parts per million. After adding the tablets, test your water to determine the chlorine content.

Certain pools serve as a middle ground between traditional swimming pools and hot tubs. The two main options are plunge pools and swim spas. A plunge pool (or cocktail pool) is smaller, but you can add spa-like elements such as heating and jets. A swim spa is more similar to a hot tub, but it produces a current that allows you to swim in place (similar to how a treadmill lets you run in place).

Infinity pools do require slightly more maintenance than other pools because you’ll need to constantly monitor the water level. If the water level is out of whack, it won’t correctly flow over the edge, which gives the pool its infinity look.

That said, the rest of the maintenance is largely dependent on the type of material you choose. Concrete needs a little extra care to prevent algae growth, and you will eventually need to resurface it. Fiberglass and vinyl liners are algae-resistant but they’re not as durable.
