"It went well, The crew was about 15 min late so i thought it was going to be all bad but i was extremely surprised. Wow! I was so happy i chose this company instead of the other one i had called because the detail of the cleaning was incredible. They even swept off my 2 balcony's and cleaned out the cat litter box. I scheduled my next cleaning for next Monday. Im looking forward to the smell they left my house with."

"G&C were very gracious when I had to cancel service at the last minute due to a death in the family.  I was not charged extra for the late cancellation.  Because of the time limitation (the four hours of service were delivered in the form of a three-member team that worked for 1 hour 20 minutes) I asked for a strategic strike:  clean only the bathrooms and vacuum.  The team was courteous and professional.  While they came with their own cleaning supplies, they did not have certain items they prefer to use.  The condition of the rooms to be cleaned was pretty bad but the team did a good job given the limited timeframe they were here.  The team leader was very nice.  The price I was charged was a promotional price. I would absolutely call G&C cleaners again!

Garage Cleaning Services questions, answered by experts

It is highly recommended to prime a metal surface, like a garage door, before painting. Primer creates a stable surface for the paint to adhere to, which helps prevent bubbling, chipping, and peeling. This ensures the paint job will last longer. Painting metal without a primer can lead to poor adhesion and allow rust to bleed through the new paint. If the surface already has rust spots, you can cover them with a zinc chromate primer before applying the final coat. While priming adds an extra step and cost, it is a worthwhile investment for a durable, long-lasting finish. For best results, also use a paint specifically designed for metal.

The most common garage door material is aluminum, but the best material for you depends on your budget and location. Wood is the most expensive to repair but tends to add the most curb appeal, while fiberglass or composite doors cost less to fix.

Aluminum won’t rust, so it’s a great option if you live somewhere humid or rainy. Steel doors are durable but are prone to rust. If you live somewhere with extreme temperatures, hot or cold, you might opt for fiberglass, which won’t split if the temperatures skyrocket or drop below freezing.

The best method for painting a garage door depends on the door's design and the finish you want to achieve. For the most professional-looking finish, especially on doors with panels or intricate details, a paint sprayer is an excellent choice. It can easily get into hard-to-reach places and provide a smooth, even coat.

If you don't have a sprayer, or if your door is flat, a combination of a roller and a brush is the most effective approach. Use a roller for the large, flat sections to cover the area quickly and efficiently. For the best results, experts recommend a roller with a nap between ⅜ and ¾ inches thick; natural fibers can also help ensure an even coat.

A brush is essential for handling the finer details. Use it to paint grooves, angles, small panels, and the edges of the door where you need more control.

Regardless of the tools you use, it's a good idea to step back after the main application to review your work and use a detail brush to touch up any missed spots.

The best way to maintain a garage door and avoid issues is to hire someone to do a garage door tune-up, check the remote opener, and service the main system components, like the springs, chains, and track. Schedule maintenance service once every two years for $100 to $200. You can also DIY garage door maintenance, like washing and waxing the door and applying lubricant to hinges and rollers regularly.

A garage ceiling needs a vapor barrier if it’s a heated garage or if you’re installing insulation in the ceiling. Without a vapor barrier, you risk moisture issues and mold growth. If you have an unheated garage and don’t plan on installing insulation that could get wet and harbor mold, the ceiling doesn't need a vapor barrier.
