"Carlos was very professional. I had many weed growth from my back thru front yard and all in between rocks. He was fast, and went above and beyond. Completed cleanup around the other side of my house. My yard has never looked so nice. Very affordable. Thank you Carlos."

"Hired this business to do a complete overhaul on our backyard. We had them install a sprinkler system, sod, boarders, gravel, rock, a retaining wall, privacy tress, flowers, shrubby, level everything out, and even had them fix a gate and one side of our fence. They turned a hideous dirt backyard into a gorgeous paradise. The owner is a super hard worker and won't stop until the job is done. Highly recommend."

"The work that DNA Cleaning Services performed today was exceptional. It was a one-time cleaning after our remodeling project. The service was so good that we’ve decided to hire them on permanently to perform regular cleaning each month. We would highly recommend this cleaning service!"

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

The best time to fight crabgrass with pre-emergent herbicide is when forsythias tend to bloom. In the mid-Atlantic region, this is usually between April and May. Even if you're late to apply the herbicide, it’s effective as long as the crabgrass plant has fewer than five leaves.

Crabgrass is very resilient, and homemade solutions like vinegar may not be strong enough. Typically, hand-weeding is the most effective option that doesn’t involve harmful chemicals. You can use corn-meal gluten as a natural pre-emergent herbicide, but it’s not as effective as chemical weed killers.

Yes. One of the main benefits of organic mulch is weed prevention. Organic mulch forms a physical barrier that blocks light and stops weeds from germinating. It can reduce your need to weed and improve the physical appearance of your garden.

Sealing pavers helps cut down on weed growth, but it won’t wipe it out entirely. What it does really well is harden the joint sand—especially if you’re using a sealant with polymer additives—so weeds have a much harder time breaking through. It also blocks airborne seeds from settling in the cracks and keeps debris from building up. This results in fewer weeds, easier maintenance, and a cleaner-looking surface. Just remember, sealing is a strong defense—not a one-and-done solution. Stay on top of sweeping, spot-treating, and resealing every few years to keep your weeds in check.

Each type of weed comes with its own control methods, but stopping the seed spread is the first step. Grazing, mowing, and hand pulling can slow the invasion. In some cases, selective herbicide is necessary to stop a persistent weed from overtaking an area.
