I've been in the business almost all my life and can do mig, tig and stick welding. I have mostly done custom fabrication and repair work. I work with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum. I am portable and have a shop with a plasma cnc table. I am transparent with my invoicing and accept cash, checks and cards. Thank you for your consideration and hope to hear from you.

"UNPROFESSIONAL, TOOK OUR MONEY AND OUR FENCE ! We hired Robert Gomez owner of G&F wrought iron 18 months ago before Covid 19. Without a doubt the most UNPROFESSIONAL contractor we have ever hired with deep regret and empty pockets. Refuses to help the customers. Argumentative, dishonest, can't keep appointments or return phone calls. We understand we are not alone. This is simply unacceptable business practices. Too many other honest contractors available that respect you and your hard earned money. He robs Peter to pay Paul. All we can say is by our experience with Robert Gomez Jr. over 18 months of agony trying to get what was agreed on our contact is going to involve CSLB and an attorney. Run from this guy and his crew !"

Welding questions, answered by experts

Most projects take 1-4 weeks, depending on material sourcing, design intricacy, and required finishing treatments like powder coating or galvanization.

Some welding projects, such as repairing pipes or fences, require travel, whereas others, like furniture repair, do not necessarily require the welder to come to you. Travel and overhead factor into the overall cost of your welding project. Some of the most common welding projects include:

  • Metal furniture repair: $35–$100

  • Pipe repair: $200–$1,000

  • Small gates: $550–$750

  • Fencing: $1,200–$1,800

  • Fabricated sheet metal welding: $750–$2,500

Beams made out of traditional lumber can often only span 8 to 12 feet without requiring vertical supports, so if you want a wider opening to create a more open floor plan, you might need an LVL beam. LVL beams can span up to around 30 feet without the need for load-bearing walls or vertical supports underneath, making them a better option for keeping your home as open and airy as possible.

No, beams are the primary load-bearers for flooring or roofing systems, and they distribute the weight of the structure to your foundational supports, while joists bear far less weight and distribute their loads to the beams. Beams are usually thicker and longer, and they have support posts or foundation walls beneath them for support.

The difference between a lintel and a beam is what loads each is responsible for supporting. A lintel is a type of beam that is responsible only for supporting the load above an opening, such as a window or door, and transfers the weight to the side walls around an opening. A beam supports the slab and transfers the load to nearby columns, which then disperse the load to the ground.
