"Artemio Del Toro, Jr. went above & beyond when it came to completing my cabinets. Artemio Del Toro's prices were unbelievably affordable. Their quality of work is unmatched. I cannot remember how many people have complimented their work every time they come into my kitchen! They communicated every step of the process with me to ensure I was kept in the loop and knew what was being done. You can really tell he cares about his workmanship and has a great eye to detail!"

"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

Small jobs welcome

"Diamond K Wooworks is the BEST! My daughter Jamie got married and wanted a sign the "log" for guests to sign instead of guest book. Jamie and her husband are in the Army. This is where sign the log came from.. we had some tree logs we found while on vacation in Pinecrest. Once we brought them to the valley they split and dried out. 2 days before the wedding I frantically was looking for a log.. This is where Diamond K Woodworks comes in to the picture. I contacted Dustin, he had me come to his shop and see if anything he had would work for us. He had these beautiful pieces of wood for me to pick from at this shop. Saving the day! Our wedding guest got to sign the log. We have now sealed it and are making into a bench fir them to sit on. Dustin saves the day!!! He is first class, honest, and great at response time of returning calls. I've even seen him at a huge demolition job site of groves of trees he had to remove. Don't wait and call him now!!"

"We had a big kitchen remodel with layout changes, so we were a bit nervous at first. Ron made the process a lot easier than expected. He coordinated everything and made sure each step was done properly before moving on. The workmanship is solid, and the finishes look high-end. We?re really happy we chose Ocean Seven Builders!"

"We loved working with Repair and Remodel Experts. They were
professional, polite, accommodating and stayed on task. They met our
deadline and the work they did was fantastic. Being a church, we
appreciated their work ethic and the demeanor of their crew. We didn't
have to worry that we would have visitors who might hear inappropriate
behavior or language coming from the construction area (which was right
next to our current office space.

Woodworking questions, answered by experts

No, you do not usually tip a carpenter for their work. However, if you’ve been very happy with the level of service and quality of work, a 10% to 20% tip would likely be accepted with thanks. If you’re not sure, it can help to discuss the carpenter’s policy or preference for tipping before beginning the project.

Most landscape timbers are 8 feet long, but some are also available in 10-foot and 12-foot lengths. Choose the length that will allow you to install landscape timbers using the least amount of cutting to fit. Shorter timbers will allow you to more easily create angles and shorter plant bed sides.

You don’t need a cutting board. In fact, cutting is the original purpose of butcher block countertops. That said, wood is porous and can harbor germs. You’ll need to clean your countertop thoroughly after use. Knives can also scratch the surface. This adds to the patina of the wood, but not everyone likes the look—in which case, you may want to use a cutting board.

Homeowners insurance may cover damaged floor joists, depending on your policy. Insurance typically covers issues from storms, fires, or water damage from burst pipes. However, don't expect your insurance company to cover damage from wear and tear, poor maintenance, or termites.

If you’re just replacing a few broken or damaged joists, you can expect to pay anywhere from $100 to $300 per joist. However, a complete installation for a home or room will take into account the cost of labor, which ranges from $25 to $40 per hour. Floor joist installation for an entire room, for example, can cost between $5,000 and $10,000, depending on the room's size and the materials used.
