Tom has been in the landscape industry since 1984. We are a family-owned business with Tom and son, Joshua, at the helm. Currently we have no on-staff employees. Temporary workers are hired through a local agency as needed. Background checks are done on workers prior to their working with us. We are a California corporation. Payment is due upon completion of work performed. Cash or check is preferred, but credit cards and debit cards are accepted if necessary. Ongoing clients receive a discount on return repair visits that are half an hour or less. DBA - Lanier Landscapes

"It went terrible. Came on a Wednesday after waiting for 2 weeks. Cut all the wires to the front shrub and grass sprinklers and didn't reconnect them so I had no sprinklers at all. Made multiple phone calls to him and would not return my call. I wanted a simple battery operated timer for my back yard and he told me to call a electrical place in another town to check the wiring, all I wanted was a battery timer, but he did not want to go that route, I am the customer. As it turns out I had to replace the wiring in the front as I had a massive water leak under the concrete which he would have never found. He then said well I won't charge you as I didn't do much, so I offered $50 for his time and he said his going rate is $125, so I paid it. Shame on him for ripping off a woman and senior citizen."

Stone and Gravel questions, answered by experts

Brick can increase the value of your home depending on the type of masonry materials used. Homes generally have a higher resale value when they have brick siding, and brick is also easier to maintain (and lasts longer) than other types of siding, which can motivate buyers to make an offer.

Just keep in mind, however, that although brick can up the asking price when you sell your house, the cost to brick a house is also more expensive than other typical siding costs—so you’ll invest more in the project.

Yes, depending on the type of pavers you have, you may need a specific type of sealant. For example, concrete pavers will bond differently than clay pavers or faux stone pavers and will demand a different type of sealer. If you’re unsure of the material and what type of sealant you need, you can contact the company that laid your pavers down for you.

According to the Earthquake Country Alliance—a public and private alliance in California that works to improve earthquake and tsunami readiness—reports that unreinforced masonry, such as stone, bricks, and hollow clay tiles, is more susceptible to earthquake damage. The mortar between bricks isn’t as stable as other building materials and methods.

Yes, you can paint stone on the exterior of a house. It’s important to properly prep the stone by cleaning off dirt and debris. You’ll want to apply at least two coats of paint to get the most even and complete coverage. Any pinholes or missed spots, however small, can allow moisture to get into the masonry and potentially cause the paint to blister and peel from the stone.

You will repoint over a fraction of the old mortar, but you should scrape away 1/2 to 1 inch of mortar from the joints before repointing. Otherwise, the repointing is only masking the weakened mortar instead of actually replacing it, which could put your chimney at risk of bigger, more expensive damages later on.
