"I had a leak in my kitchen from the fridge. Had a floor company installing new flooring when they noted possible asbestos. I found Joe Cuevas on Angi and he responded immediately! He walked me though the whole process of finding a tester ( another company) and what to expect. The test was for asbestos and Joes team came out next day for consult. Joe advised me on how to process insurance claim ( which was denied due to appliance issue - not Joes fault) . His team came out quickly and did the abatement . Wayne on abatement team very professional, team courteous. I HIGHLY recommend Joe snd CVA! Joe is extremely knowledgeable and professional!"

"We had a water heater flood 2 days before Christmas. At ta time when many might not answer their phone, Paul and Bree Phillips were there an hour after they got my message (7 am) and worked tirelessly to extract the water and set up their dryers to save the walls and wood flooring affected. The carpet was a goner! Throughout the following days they were present and professional and advised me on many things I did not even consider. I am so pleased I contacted Spotless Miracle!"

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

"Everything went just fine with them.  Their price was competitive and right there with everybody else.  The quality of their work was good.  They did what we asked them to do and they did a good job.  Their punctuality was very good and they were very professional.  They had all the equipments they needed so they didn't have to run back and forth.  They wore booties to protect the carpet they had already cleaned. They did a great job."

Water and Smoke Damage Repair questions, answered by experts

Call 911 immediately. If you have a fire extinguisher or fire blanket near the laundry room, you can attempt to extinguish the fire, but don’t open or touch the dryer. If you can’t put the fire out, evacuate yourself, your family, and your pets from the house, closing the laundry room door behind you. Turn off the electricity to your home via the outside fuse box, then wait for the fire department. After a dryer fire, have your home’s electrical system inspected to make sure there isn’t any damage.

Yes, a bowl of vinegar can absorb smoke. If you want to use this method to reduce the smoke smell in your house, all you have to do is leave a bowl (or multiple bowls) of white vinegar out overnight. Alternatively, you can use bowls of baking soda, coffee grounds, or activated charcoal.

Yes, most homeowners insurance policies cover fire damage and restoration, provided the fire was not set intentionally or caused by negligence. Accidental fires, such as those from electrical issues, cooking, or gas, are typically covered. Your policy will usually cover emergency services like roof tarping, the full cost of remediation and rebuilding, and may also cover alternative housing while your home is being restored. You will be responsible for paying your policy's deductible. It is important to check your policy details to see how coverage is calculated—it may be for the full replacement cost of damaged items or the actual cash value, which accounts for depreciation. To expedite your claim, contact your insurance company immediately and have all necessary documentation ready.

Hazard insurance is the part of your overall homeowner's insurance policy that covers the structure of your home and other structures on your property, as well as any personal property within those structures. When a lender requires you to get hazard insurance for your new home purchase, they’re referring to a standard homeowner’s insurance policy.

Yes, carpets should be replaced after a house fire or significant smoke damage, even if they appear undamaged. Smoke, soot, particulates, and chemicals can penetrate deep into the carpet fibers and padding, making complete removal a complicated and time-consuming process. If water was used to extinguish the fire, it can also soak through the carpet and padding, creating a risk of mold and mildew growth. Due to these challenges and potential health risks, replacing the carpet is the safest and most effective solution.
