"We found Landmark construction energy crew, after being frustrated in the past from other contractors. From the initial meeting that we had with Charlie, we were impressed. Their values of customer satisfaction and their deliver everything they said. Charlie was the manager of the work and he was on time for all the meetings that we had with him. He was very straight, kindly and motivated to be invited into our house. He came back and took all the measurements that he needed for the kitchen, asked us many questions about what we would like to include in the new kitchen and 3 days after, he brought us a 3D design for us to look at and see how it will most likely look like. It was exciting to see how fast they could generate a nice design. Charlie knew what he’s doing and we were sure he has done this type of jobs many times before. Their prices are reasonable. We wanted our kitchen finished as soon as possible, so we agreed with Charlie to start the following week. That gave us little time to buy all the appliances, hardware, countertops, tiles Etc… Charlie personally went with us to 2 showrooms where we picked out our tiles and countertops. He also helped us to search and buy all the options for the (sink, faucet, hardware and more…). To be honest, I was probably a nightmare type of work. We moved out of our place during the month of the remodeling and we were a little worried that something would go wrong and we would end up on a terrifying remodeling show. Now after this remodeling is over, we can say clearly that is nothing to worry about when Landmark construction energy crew are working at your house. Their workers was clean, friendly, willing to answer questions. I discovered that Charlie visits the job site every few days, but he too sincerely cares about your home. He always called regarding the schedule, timeline or if there was a problem that need to be solved. We asked for changes to the electric wiring after the tiles have been installed. Would I recommend them to others? Absolutely yes. We will refer this company to all our friends."
"Trevor Flahive did an absolutely amazing job getting a system designed and installed! He was professional, thorough, and had the system up and running in no time. 10/10 I would recommend new customers to Mr.Flahive, very impressive."
"We?re very satisfied with our roof replacement. Ron coordinated the job really well and made the whole thing easy for us. The crew was quick, professional, and did a great job with both installation and cleanup. The roof looks excellent and we haven?t had any issues since. Overall a great experience and we?d happily use them again!"
"The young guy who did the work was prompt and professional, but not well trained. He power washed my patio BEFORE blowing the leaves and sticks off my roof, so all the debris landed on my just cleaned patio, and he didn't follow up to clean it off. He forgot to do the garage door and was all packed up when he asked me to inspect, so I just let it ride.
"We did a total remodel of my husband's family home. It took over six months. Our next door neighbor is Andre Johnson who is starting up his own solar panel installation out of his home. He has been in the business for years, but felt now was the time for him to start his own business. After we moved in, we talked to him about solar installation...we got some other bids, but his was still the best. He and his son did the installation, then we called the city for the inspector to come out. This is why I am writing this review. With the total remodel, we had a lot of city inspections, and we knew how particular they are. The inspector came out, went up on the roof for 10 or 15 minutes. Then he told Andre he wanted to talk to us. We thought...this can't be good. On the contrary....the inspector wanted us to know what an outstanding job they did. In fact, he said he had never seen such a perfect job. He had been to two other homes for solar installation inspection prior to ours, and neither one of them passed. He said they were done by well known, large local companies. He said the larger companies sub-contract out the work, so you don't get the pride of ownership kind of work that we got. Andre has five different licenses on his business card. I did check his CA license....#958114...and he is in good standing with the state of California. One of the other licenses was his federal contracting license, and another one was with the State of California as a disabled vet. If you are looking for any kind of solar panel installation, PLEASE call Andre for a bid. I really don't think you can find a better price, and I know you won't get a better job. "
"Josh is amazing! He was very helpful and skillful. We had many things that needed to be installed/repaired. He completed everything that we asked in a professional manner. "
You can expect a diesel generator to last for up to 30,000 hours of use, which works out to 20 to 25 years with the proper maintenance, of course. That depends on how much you use it, so a diesel generator used for emergencies a couple of times a year will last a lot longer than a generator that takes over for a faulty electrical grid every month for a day or two.
You may need a permit for a portable generator if you’ll be installing a transfer switch for your primary residence or similar work. Otherwise, a permit for other uses may not be necessary. Check your local building codes or ask a local generator installer for more information about your local regulations.
While the rating will tell you how many watts the refrigerator needs at the peak of its cycle, it requires additional wattage to start. At the bare minimum, you’ll need a 1,500-watt generator to get the fridge up and running after a blackout. A 2,000-watt generator should be sufficient for most home refrigerators.
Whole-house generators can run continuously for extended periods, even for weeks at a time (around 400 to 500 hours), as long as they have a sufficient fuel supply. However, this type of extensive use will increase wear and tear and can shorten the generator's overall lifespan. During long periods of operation, it's important to check and refill the engine oil as needed, potentially as frequently as daily depending on the model. If your generator uses a fuel tank, ensure it is kept full to prevent unexpected shutdowns.
The average cost to install a home generator is $5,200, but total costs can range from $500 to $18,000 or more. The final price depends on several factors, including the generator's size, type, brand, fuel source, and the cost of labor and assembly. The generator's size is the most significant cost factor, as units that can power larger homes with higher energy demands cost more.
Cost breakdowns by generator type are typically as follows:
Portable or Emergency Backup Generators (1kW–7.5kW): $500–$2,000
To ensure you get the right size unit for your needs without overpaying, consider hiring an electrician to calculate the electrical load of your essential appliances. It is also recommended to get at least three quotes from qualified installers to find the best fit for your budget.
