"Flores Landscaping did a very professional job in a timely manner. They trimmed 10 palm trees and cleaned them up in a very timely manner. Truly an amazing crew of well seasoned professional landscapers. They also are mowing and edging my lawn and charge very reasonable & affordable prices. I highly recommend them for all your landscaping needs!"

Small jobs welcome

"Old Bridge Landscaping replaced the old cracked concrete borders around our side front yard with brand new concrete. They also re-worked the soil and added sand before installing beautiful new sod. And they added a sprinkler for better coverage. Also they put new mulch in the garden bed to beautify the existing area. Ana (the owner) and her husband Alberto are great people to work with. My wife and I are thrilled with what they did to our yard! We highly recommend Old Bridge Landscaping"

"Great lawn service! They did an excellent job mowing the lawn, edging all the borders, trimming the bushes, and removing the weeds. Everything was cleaned up nicely afterward, and the yard looks much more neat and well-maintained. They were professional, thorough, and did exactly what I needed. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for reliable lawn care!"

"My lawn and shrubbery was overgrown and unsightly. Due to medical issues, I could not maintain it properly. I can't recall how I found Justin Vasquez but I am very glad I did. He cleaned up my yard and charged fair and honest price. i had received several proposals prior which were all very unreasonable. My backyard was a horrible mess. My once beautiful lawn had grown into a jungle of overgrown very tall grass and weeds. In an afternoon Justin restored the yard into something I can enjoy again. He charged a very reasonable price which was unexpected due to the amount of work and time it took. I have contracted with Justin to continued caring for my yard and would advise anyone to use his services. Harry Hibbard Modesto"

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can landscape in the rain, but you should take some precautions to keep yourself and your tools safe. Avoid using electric landscaping tools during rainfall, and don’t mow, thatch, aerate, or rake in the rain, as your tools can more easily tear out roots in the loose soil. Be careful when working on wet grass, and take your time to avoid slipping. Avoid putting in new plants before a particularly bad storm, as heavy rain and strong winds can damage or uproot plants that aren’t yet established.

During the fall, you’re likely to see foliage in stunning shades of orange, red, yellow, and brown. These colors emerge because of a seasonal decline in the pigment chlorophyll that makes leaves green.

Monkey grass isn’t too picky when it comes to light conditions: It needs sun but prefers partial shade. While it can tolerate full sun, it thrives in environments with partial shade (around four to six hours of sunlight per day). The black mondo grass variety is the most tolerant of heat from direct sunlight.

In most cases, buying plants from a local greenhouse or nursery is well worth the investment, even though they tend to be a bit more expensive than those at a home improvement store. Employees at nurseries are usually well-versed in gardening and understand how the climate in your area affects different plants. They can help you make selections based on your skill level and time commitment to your landscaping, and they can provide detailed care instructions and advice to help keep your plants alive and diagnose and treat issues like pest infestation and illness.

The most important thing to put under a rock garden is the appropriate soil. The specific soil needed will depend on the type of plants you’re growing as well as the environment you live in. You can also put non-woven or woven fabric under the rocks to add to the garden's structural stability.
