Customers say: Quality work

"Dustin Went over the project with me three times before we wrote the contract. This company is very professional, knowledgeable and he went above and beyond to assist with obtaining necessary permits. His crew and team were equally professional and worked non-stop each and every day.One of the best things was the job was completed $5,000 under the low end of the bid and a french drain that wasn't mentioned initially was also put in to prevent water damage that would come down the hill and it drained off to the side of the hill. Dustin did not fail to protect my cabin/house once the work was done - I wouldn't have known about this."

"Leo Tocchini responded immediately..same day as my Call regarding smell and potential moisture issues in crawl space of manufactured home. He monitored a number of areas around my home and in various places of crawl space for moisture levels. I was reassured when his monitor indicated within normal range. We then addressed seismic retrofitting procedure initiated by me for a potential future project. Leo explained what was involved and answered my questions thoroughly. I noted he is kind, attentive, excellent at clarifying procedures and rates. I inquired about the full scope of his work for future projects for myself and for a friend who is currently desiring to live in this area and will need to have his potential home inspected and assessed thoroughly before purchasing. I recommend this company highly. I think it is a rare Gem given myexperiences having purchased multiple properties during my lifetime. A 10 in my view."

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

There are several countertop options available to fit your lifestyle and needs.

  • Granite countertops are durable and come in a variety of colors.

  • Soapstone countertops are prone to scratches and best in smaller kitchens.

  • Marble countertops are less durable than granite but a good option for busy kitchens.

  • Slate countertops are stain-resistant, making them easy to clean.

  • Limestone countertops must be sealed often to prevent scratches.

  • Acrylic countertops cost less than granite while still providing durability.

  • Laminate countertops are the most affordable but chip and fade faster.

  • Wood countertops need monthly sealing to maintain.

Epoxy is the best sealer for concrete countertops. It fills in gaps, rough areas, and imperfections for a smooth finish and will usually last the life of the concrete. Other options include acrylic and polyurethane sealers, which protect the countertops from stains but must be reapplied every few years to maintain proper surface protection.

Kitchen counters are 36 inches high because that’s considered the ideal height for the average American adult, which is 5’9” for men and 5’4” for women. A three-foot counter height lets most people comfortably chop, cook, and clean without straining their backs, necks, and shoulders.

You can put hot pans on porcelain countertops. Porcelain is highly resistant to heat—it’s manufactured at around 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit, so it can withstand a ton of heat without cracking or damaging. Even though the high heat is a plus, you should still be cautious when putting hot surfaces on porcelain countertops.

Yes, updating your countertops can increase your home's resale value. High-quality, stylish countertops play a significant role in a property's overall appeal and can attract potential buyers. The impact is greatest when replacing outdated, chipped, or stained countertops, or when upgrading from a low-end material like laminate to a high-end, durable one such as granite, quartz, or other natural stone. While you may not recoup the entire cost, investing in attractive, durable countertops is a smart move, as kitchen and bathroom updates often have the most significant impact on a buyer's opinion. For the best results, ensure they are professionally installed.
