"Super happy with LA Reglazing! They reglazed our old bathtub and made it look brand new. The job was done quickly, and the quality is top-notch — no weird smells or streaks, just a super clean, glossy finish. Customer service was also great they explained the process, gave a fair quote, and were on time. Definitely exceeded expectations."

"Pristine Construction handled everything from design, city permits, construction and any extras we needed.  Pristine has a crew of employees and they only take a limited number of jobs so they can provide quality service to their customers.   They usually deal with referrals by former clients and are constantly busy.  Once we met Nathan and saw his level of commitment, Pristine is well worth waiting for!!
Nathan Moses provided the design.  He spent 3 hours with us at the appliance store to select the bathroom hardware, he spent an hour with me at the window store selecting windows and doors and he spent about 2 hours with us at the tile store selecting tile for the bathrooms............all about 1 1/2 months before we even began the project.  They only had a $1000 retainer and he spent all of this time with us!  This is the level of commitment you get with Pristine!
As with any older house you can expect the unplanned or unexpected.  We had to replace the sewer system because it was leaking,  fix broken drainage pipes and add french drains but at each step, Pristine said, "No problem" and had a worker on site the next day.  We didn't think the AC was strong enough to cool our western exposure bedroom, Nathan had the AC guy out the next day talking about solutions or removing our reservations.  We thought the room needed a third coat of paint in one room, no problem.  Everything was perfect.
As I mentioned above, Nathan Moses and Mike Malka are fantastic.  Mike will be onsite every day once the construction moves 'inside'.  We were fortunate to have both Nathan and Mike come to the site every single day that workers were here.
Pristine took care of the architect plans, city permits, inspections and coordinating everything.   Sharona would call every day to tell us what was going to happen the following day so we always knew what to expect.
We decided to add a spiral staircase and deck on top of the bathroom, Nathan researched and found comparative prices for the staircase.  We ended up going with a company because we just connected with the owner from the start!  It turned out to be a friend of Nathan....should've known!!  Another advantage with Pristine is you pay direct for the tile and appliances using their contractor's discount and don't get charged an additional 20% as some contractor have done in the past.  Why should I pay 20% more to the contractor depending on the cost of a bath tub?  Pristine doesn't do that!
Their work is outstanding! and they stand behind the work  For example, I selected the tile for the shower nook and Faustino spent hours putting it together but once done, I didn't like it at all.  The Pristine team says, "We want you happy."  He came back on Sunday, took out all the tile and manually cut small pieces based on a custom design I drew and didn't think twice about making it absolutely perfect!!  Amazing teamwork and wonderful group to work with!  (And we weren't charged extra!!!!)
You will love their work, their staff and entire team of professionals.  There was never a disagreement or negative response.  The team has a positive attitude, great work ethic and outstanding results.  We hesitated for 15 years about doing this room addition because we heard terrible remodel stories!!   If only we knew about Pristine Construction but sure glad we were referred.  They are the best!
The cost that I listed above is for room addition, additional closet built in master bedroom and guest room, new addition walk-in, complete remodel guest bath, new AC in 4 rooms, new sewer line, city permits.

"If I was to describe my experience doing business with Universal Home Design, it would be "Serendipitous"€. I was doing research for a kitchen remodel job, wall to wall, floor to ceiling total rebuild. I had used another contractor company for three-bathroom remodel couple of years ago. I planned on using the same company again, but I needed to do my due diligence by getting few bids just for my peace of mind. I talked with half of dozen contractor companies, over phone or in person at my house. First impression and my gut instincts are important to me. Oury showed humility, he didn't brag about how many years he's been in business like others, just focused on my project. He was honest about my request to knock down a wall, other companies said "no problem, if it's not load bearing..." Oury went up my attic (nobody else did) and said, "that wall is load-bearing wall and you have sunken living room and...".; "I wouldn't tear down that wall, it's not worth the investment"€ I knew then, he wasn't a sales guy but someone that would partner with me to make my dream kitchen a reality. All the companies that gave me their bids had slightly different scope of work based on their feedback and ideas. Oury's bid was fair and larger scope (more cabinet space, counter top space and tile work). 700+ sq. ft. of tile work, 74 ft of linear cabinets, windows, lights, etc. Work started with prep work, move existing refrigerator to my garage. Oury said 6-8 weeks, during the project I added few changes/additions, such as laundry room (tile, counter top, move water line), rebuild my 24 x 10 wood deck, replace 2 sliding glass doors, run a new water pipe to the back yard near dog run. Based on our ideas/vision Oury helped us pick out tiles, back splash, counter top, paint, and some kitchen stuff and I never had to go to the store, Oury brought all the samples to us so my girlfriend and I can visualize it in the house. Here is the best part, all the work I described was completed in 2 weeks and 4 days!!! I am talking new kitchen, dining room, front entrance, laundry room, and a wooden deck. Another thing, I consider to be a nice feature was his crew was awesome, same familiar faces day after day. Familiar and friendly faces are import to me since my girlfriend and her 12 years old daughter was home during the afternoon. I've worked with bigger companies and plumbing guy, electrical guy, tile guy were sub-contractors and I would go days without any progress due to scheduling. I can't state how happy and satisfied I am with my new house. I communicated with Oury by text or face to face on daily bases during the entire project, either Oury or his crew would tell me what was getting done the next day. My next project will definitely be with Oury and Universal Home Design."

"Greg and his team made my first home renovation such a great experience. I was hesitant to go with a contractor I found online and heard of other's horror stories, but upon first phone call and meeting with Greg, I knew I could trust him and his team. Greg was very patient throughout the whole process and kept me updated on everything. I renovated my whole kitchen and took out some walls and everything came out perfect and on time! Will definitely use them for future projects."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

Roman tubs are very different from ordinary tubs. A Roman tub is typically deeper and broader than a traditional tub, and it's often installed on a custom platform with the faucet positioned on the deck rather than on the wall. Ordinary tubs are more shallow and usually feature built-in shower options

The reasons not to install flooring underneath a bathtub outweigh the benefits. A properly installed bathtub will keep water from reaching the unprotected subfloor underneath. Installing a tub on top of finished flooring can lead to damage and scratches to the new floor. Also, a small leak from a tub drain may be more difficult to notice if finished flooring impedes water drips.

If you love long soaks, appreciate spa-style decor, and don't mind the extra space, a Roman tub is a beautiful addition to your bathroom.

Acrylic tubs can fade or turn yellow over time due to thick layers of accumulated dirt, hard water deposits from minerals, and shampoo or soap dyes. Also, as an acrylic tub ages, it may become dull or change color due to changes in the acrylic itself.

Different bathtub materials have various advantages and disadvantages. Cast iron and copper are considered the most durable materials because they are dense and resistant to damage from scratches or dents. However, cast-iron tubs are heavy, expensive, and may not be suitable for upper floors. Copper offers unique benefits but requires regular chemical treatment to prevent a patina from forming, making cast iron a less maintenance-intensive option. Porcelain is a good second choice for durability. For those on a budget, acrylic is a popular option, though it is less durable.
