"I recently had the pleasure of working with Shane LaFortune from LaFortune Stucco, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Shane did a fabulous job replacing the damaged and aging stucco on the side of my home. His attention to detail, professionalism, and craftsmanship truly set him apart. The new stucco looks flawless, and the quality of work exceeded my expectations. He was knowledgeable and answered all my random questions. He’s a true pro! I highly recommend Shane and LaFortune Stucco for anyone in need of expert stucco repair or replacement."

"Elliot and his team are amazing. Not only does he do beautiful stucco, he is a great communicator and a joy to work with. Stucco can make a mess, but by the time they are done and cleaned up, everything looks fabulous - most especially the stucco! My project ended up being larger and more complicated than we thought, but Elliot stayed patient and was so kind through it all. I highly recommend him!"

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Properly installed and maintained stucco can last 50 to 100 years, making it one of the longest-lasting siding materials available. This durable material is known for its durability, and as long as you clean and waterproof it regularly and promptly repair any damage, it’ll protect your home for decades to come.

Quikrete will set without mixing. The process of pouring dry concrete into your concrete form and then adding water is called dry pouring. While this method makes pouring concrete simpler and easier, it reduces its strength and durability. It can be a viable option for small, decorative concrete pavers for walkways or for setting fence posts, but it’s not ideal for pouring slabs that will bear any significant amount of weight.

If it is applied properly, stucco is a durable material that can last between 50 and 80 years, especially with regular repair and maintenance. Things like painting the stucco every 10 years or so will help it last longer. The location of your home plays a big part in the life span of your stucco, too.

Solid, unpainted stucco shouldn’t suffer damage from dots of glue used for this task. If the stucco is dirty, you may notice slight marks when you heat and peel the glue away, but these aren’t permanent.

However, not all stucco walls are solid stucco. Some are “faux” stucco with a foam backing. This kind of stucco veneer is more susceptible to damage, including damage from hot glue. We don’t suggest attaching anything to these kinds of stucco walls, so make sure you check the stucco type before starting this project.

Neutral colors like white, tan, beige, and light brown are the most popular stucco colors. Natural stucco has a grayish color due to the high concentration of Portland cement in the material, but most homeowners have their contractors add pigments to create a more inviting appearance. Stucco is most popular in hotter climates, where it provides ample insulation to regulate interior temperatures and keep the solar heat out. Since lighter colors reflect more sunlight, lighter stucco is more prevalent.
